Does everyone have? I know the whole knee replacement thread has been done and done again but I have decision to make, so I thought I would call on my COTH peeps.
I am going for a TKR in August and I need to inform my surgeon if I want a custom knee or an off the shelf knee. My surgeon is one of the designers of the custom knee and while he has done like 700 hundred of these new fangled knees, he has quite literally done thousands of the off the shelf kind.
The pros of the custom knee is, it’s made for my body and the healing is suppose to go faster. The cons are no one knows how long they are going to stand up because they are so new. Of course the off the shelf kinds are tried and true. My surgeon is not pushing either way but it’s not like I can just got to ratemy knee.com
