For those that are already at the WEG or Lexington-savvy, what kind of clothing, footwear and rainwear do you suggest? I’m packing, and it sounds like you all froze today! Am flying out Thursday.
Well, the thing about KY is that if you don’t like the weather just wait a day! You can’t go wrong with layers and good walking shoes with wicking socks. I gather no umbrellas are permitted so the light plastic poncho is a good bet. There will probably be the option of purchasing raingear or a jacket at WEG if you don’t feel like toting one around, I tend to do that as my souvenir.
Last year was mild almost to Thanksgiving, and then wham! it was winter, the year before that I think we had a light dusting of snow in mid Oct - IIRC my bulbs were set out to be planted and we had to grab them up quick, then it got milder again and we were able to plant. So it’s generally mild in late September, mild being 50’s up to 80’s.
I was extremely glad to have my rain pants and rain jacket yesterday. I could sit anywhere I wanted and was comfortable. I will be going Friday and Saturday and intend to layer!
