Would a general feeling puny be one of them?
My mare got the vaccine Monday night. I didn’t notice anything wrong Tuesday, but Wednesday morning she was not quite right. Still eating and pooping, etc… but not her usual perky self.
Thoughts?

One of my mares gets swelling at the injection site with the Fort Dodge vaccine. Not so with the Intervet Prodigy, though. I’ve never noticed either vaccine to make any of my mares feel crummy. Rabies vaccine - yes. Pneumabort - no.
I have a mare who would get a very stiff neck from the pneumabort. It was better for her to give it in the hind leg. She never lost her appetite over it, though.
My mare has had 3 (4?) Pneumabort shots now and knock on wood has not skipped a beat.
My TB gelding could not get rabies shots in the chest - he’d get a boob. In the neck he was fine.
Any vaccine has the potential to make a horse feel a bit punky for a few days. Certainly let your vet know, and for SURE let them know if things don’t get better or get worse.
Have had many cases of stiff neck, soreness with Pneumabort. Using Prodigy, I have had no complications. Your mare will most probably be fine in the next day or so.
My maiden mare 3 years ago would get colicky after every Pneumabort injection, enough so that the vet had to come out and oil her and IV Banamine…I don’t remember the brand.
She was rebred this year and has had 2 Prodigy shots without incident of colic, but she has been very grumpy since the last shot 3 weeks ago?
Pneumabort K is the brand…Fort Dodge. Prodigy is Intevet, no bad reactions recorded. I won’t use Pneumabort, and will forego vaccines if Prodigy is not available.

Same for me.
