Asking here because it’s quicker than harassing my vet for an answer and I’m on the way to the store shortly lol
What is the best needle size for Adequan? It’s been 9 years since I’ve done an Adequan series and my brain cannot remember
I used a 1.5” 20 gauge.
Thank you!
20 gauge is a pretty standard diameter. Could use 21 or 19 with little issue as well.
Again 1.5” is standard, especially if you’re doing IV injections too. Some horses have a deep vein and it takes some digging with a 1” needle. But 1” would be fine for IM.
I just know it as the pink one. LOL (pretty sure that’s the 20 gauge)
20g 1 1/2inch
My vet always leaves 20 gauge 1.5" needles with the bottles. My BM prefers 22 gauge.
If your horse is a delicate flower like mine, 22g. And separate needle for drawing up and fresh one for the injection.
