What???!! No one's coming to the Virginia Hound show Sunday?????!

I’ll be there. Shooting Hillsboro in the Crossbred ring and cheering ODH in the American ring.
Planning to time arrival for the junior handler classes (allegedly 11 am but we all know how that goes) and lunch and hang out for the afternoon.
Anybody want to rendez-vous!!!
ODH is hosting the officials’ party - maybe at that tent, or else we can share a few cell ##s and meet up around lunchtime.

Can’t be there, but I’ll be thinking of you. Best of luck, and take good pictures, as always!

Sadly, no, work got in the way. Like I say most years, maybe next year! Although in truth, if I could block out some time I’d rather be there to hunt in comparison to attending the hound shows…

I’ll be there bright and early.

I’ll be the crazy lady in the secretary’s tent. My first year on the job…wish me luck and pray we don’t really have 90 degree temps! Hope everyone comes out. The event is made for spectators! Sit under a shady tree in front of your favorite ring and watch the competition! Great vendors=good shopping. Lots of hospitality. I hope folks turn out!

Mr. SSR and I will be there are usual. MH is having their usual big tailgate spread, so since we are contributing, we will be there around 11 or so.

Expect to be there both Saturday (with hounds) and Sunday VERY bright and early. I should have a chance to see Beau’s Mom as I will do the substitutions, etc!!!
btw- Junior classes are scheduled for Noon. Happy to say we will have a boat load of them both over and under 10 years old!!!

Very Good!

Kate DB-I look forward to meeting you! Can’t wait to meet everybody! Hunts from Ontario to Canada will be there. Should be so much fun!

Me too!

Natcherly I’ll be dere!! I’m selling programs next to the registration tent all morning! Come buy one from me! Identify yourself if I don’t remember…I’m bad like that!
It’s gonna be a bad hair weekend it looks like…90 degrees & high humidity! Ah yes!! Old Virginny in the summah!! Bring ice and cold drinks! Lets be sensible out there!

There were lots of Live Oak folks there, but unfortunately not me again! My barn help went to Colorado on Vacation and my husband was at Rolling Thunder in Washington,DC…so I’m stuck home holding down the fort…looking forward to a tropical storm alone to boot (it won’t be bad, and we really need the rain, but I could be without lights for quite awhile, ugh)
I just hate missing it and seeing everyone…but hope to be in VA hunting this fall…
I’m sure everyone had a great day…it’s a super event!

A GREAT day. Saw Amy W. and Kathy G. from Reedy Creek, WateryGlen, Whicker’s handsome son (and a cute girl!). My handsome b.f. and my equally handsome (and French) brother-in-law were my escorts.
Who else??!
Really fun.
Live Oak’s bitch won best of her ring. Left before anything else was finished.

HR, I was there the entire day and never saw you! I was at the American and Cross Bred ring most of the day.

It was a wonderful, wonderful day. Marred only by the sad loss of Jimmy Young.

Live Oak Farrier (pure English ) won the Grand Championship.I’m so sorry to have missed being there AGAIN…but we’re so lucky to have such outstanding hounds…but those “dawgs” can hunt too. My last day out in March, we chased a coyote 26 miles!!!
I totally understand how lucky LOH is to have professional staff 365 days a year…the attention to detail…and time to ready for Hound Shows after closing meet is quite a plus…
I’m gonna get to the hound shows as soon as I can get away from the horse shows!!.ugh. That’s what I get for being a “horse” breeder!

Hope to see ya’all at VA Hunt Week!!! (I was hoping to get up for the Fieldhunter Championships, but got hooked into having a luncheon for a dear friend’s daughter’s wedding. …glad to have it, just wish it were another day!

I was there! and I’m tired!

It was exhausting sitting there selling programs all morning! Phew!! So fun! I met folks from hunts in England, Scotland, Toronto, Kentucky, Florida, Texas, NY, NJ, Md, Penn, Ohio, Ga, NC, SC, Tenn., Michigan, Alabama, etc. and many were first timers. I teased them about our hot /humid weather that day.
Then I helped with the officials luncheon…but then…I helped with the coctail party during the pack class. I bartended for 3 hours for 400 of my closest friends all thirsty.:yes: I’m here to say that Gin & Tonics are THE drink of the summer hound show crowds. (3 gallons of gin/12 gallons of tonic…a zillion limes!)
Yes Live Oaks English hound was champ and Potomac reserve.
The overall results are posted on the Va. foxhound clubs website.

Special kudo’s to Brazos Valley hunt in Texas who brought up 17 hounds and gave Potomac a run for their money in the American ring! wooo hooo!

Best hunt tailgate?!! Oh it was Reedy Creek Hunt from Va. for sure!:yes: But there was another with better stuffed animals. A NY hunt I think- had a stuffed fox AND coyote decorating their elegantly appointed & flowered tents! This was definitely the biggest year ever for fancy hunt tailgates. All had tents…and wow even more vendors too than ever. Fancy hats were HUGE this year! Very shee-shee & colorful ones!

You know me…I’m all about the food and shopping! Hound show? what hound show?
And I about hugged everyone there too! How wonderful to see my entered bitch pack friends and my hunting princess friends and those from my previous hunts and all the hunting peeps! Damn we’re a fun bunch! Yeee haw!

And special thanks to Karyn Wilson for stepping up and offering to help bartend!! And then Bobby showed up and a good time was had by all! :D:D:D

Wait! Whuuutttt??? The refreshing libation of choice for the hound set is my own favorite??? Dearest Wateryglen Please Please let me know the 2013 dates and I will invite myself up to your place to help you out with everything. I will bring chhhooccccoollllaatttte and cofffffeeee choccccollllatttte and cofffeeeee.

You can join the club for $35/year. Go on their website to see applications then you can get the mailings/news all year long! They do a LOT of valuable political work too. Annual meeting in Feb. Party/dinner night before the show on sunday.

Manydogs is MOST invited to come spend weekend with me; and anyone else who needs place to stay. Altho’ I do live like 35 miles from Morven Park. We can commute together. It’s crazy fun! Gonna take a year for me to recover…yeeesh!

See, I knew coffee and chocolate would work! See my post on your FB wall…

Looks like Loudoun West & Potomac did grand! But I love that a Bassett was overall grand champion hound of the show! Cool that they put a beagle, foxhound and bassett in the same ring and the bassett won!!! Yaaaaayyy!!
