Looking for a Miracle?
Of course, even though I don’t participate, I still get the fruitbats emails. This is from last night/ this morning? Looking for a Miracle it says:
Dear Friends,
Tough times continue at SWAP. Adoptions are really lean and the adoption fees are so low that we are struggling to get everything paid and running. We’ve given away several horses just to get them into a great home, which is good for the horse but does not help the program feed and care for all our horses.
We sent the 5 rescues we just took in to ERL, a rescue with a 20 year history located in Virginia. We had them well on their way to being fat, round and even their feet done but our instability made us all realize we had to back off on our numbers of horses.
We were able to pay for the farrier to come in, that is a $600. visit each time but we’ve yet to be able to get spring shots for all the horses and update coggins that are due. Its something we have done every year like clockwork but this year we have no had the funds.
Unfortunately we are faced with having to put down some horses that we’ve had in our program for years. Horses that we had tracked in and out of homes for many years. Sadly because they are no longer sound, no one wants them. All of them are free to a good home and we’re hoping they can find a home before we are forced to end their life. Dixie, Orphy, Jelly Bean and Darlin are sadly on hit list. We urgently beg for their homes.
If you can, please help. Go to www.crossedsabers.com, adopt or donate. See all the ways you can help below. The horses need you now.
Sincerely,
Celeita Kramer, Owner/Executor/Director
