What to do for IBD-like issues? Update, better then getting worse again

Watch him like a hawk this week. We have a fast moving storm coming, and much colder mid to late week. Atmospheric pressure changes, with his gut and gassy nature
( )
along with a big drop in temps—I would try not to change anything right about now. Is he drinking well?

He drinks very well. And I can give him warm water the next few days. It’s a PITA compared to last barn where he lived next door to the wash rack, but still doable. I am just going to take him back off the MSM again. Will take some time for the replacement supplement sample to get here anyway.

It’s not so bad that I can hear gurgles from the saddle again, but worse than it had been, behaviorally, after I thought I’d eliminated irritants.

Hello IPEsq,
I have a horse with the same symptoms/behaviour. Did you ever find out the reason for his upset hindgut problems?

Hi, no not exactly, but eventually I did the Succeed challenge, and that seemed to be the ticket for him. Plus extra probiotics with changes of season and forage changes. Unfortunately lost him to colic in 2019 but we seemed to have his day to day issues under control by then. I also switched to Nexium rather than use Ulcergard/Gastrogard when he needed ulcer treatment or prevention, and he had an easier time weaning off of that. He had to take Succeed with it. I hope that helps!
