What to wear under the jacket?

Issue: muffin top. Short torso. Long line bras roll up and long line undies tend to roll down.
Anyone have a solution?

High waisted breeches a little roomier than you normally wear. The muffin top floats inside them and the jacket flats outside them rather than following the contour of every lump and bump.

At least that’s what I’m trying at the show I’m at this weekend. We will see what the pro photos look like as to whether it really worked.

(I’m trying the ps of sweden Robyn breeches. High waisted and on sale…)

Oh I feel your pain! The bottom of my ribs literally sit an inch from my hip bones.i am only 5’3’ and have relatively long legs so until I hit 60 I did okay. But now? I am so bummed by the amount of rolls I have that I did not have before. I tried the high waisted breeches, and the are okay, but I feel like the pillsbury dough boy in them, and still feel so big in my middle. I really would love to hear the solutions for shorter, rounder riders! BTW, I am not overweight, but the rolls are real.

High waisted breeches for sure, but make sure they have belt loops and wear a belt or they migrate below your muffin top.

Posture counts for a lot, frequent checks and corrections to your posture will help prevent clothes migrating.

I admit to at times wearing a shaper-type top under my riding wear. It helps some. And, yes, higher waisted breeches – but I’m a fellow short-torso person. I’m 5’6", so not super short or anything, but I’m waist/ribs. Nothing much inbetween! I think the shapers smooth things out a tad bit. It makes me feel better, anyway!

Something like this:

That’s the shape wear tank I wore under my unforgiving, tight lycra shirts when I was showing western. They aren’t too restrictive but still smooth out everything that needs… “smoothing.”

Thanks. I had looked at reviews for that tank. Apparently it rolls up.
That ad is what prompted this thread!!

Caveat that I don’t do this to RIDE, but…

I wear a lower back brace for heavy work and it stays in place very nicely, doesn’t roll, and absolutely smooths the area you’re talking about. I wonder if an “underwear” version would accomplish the same thing? Something like … hmmm maybe this?

I tucked it into the waistband of my pants, underneath my show shirt. Then it can’t roll up. Or would that not work for dressage attire?

Huh. Mine does not. I do tuck it in, so that probably helps.

Eta maybe find another brand, but the same idea. Make sure it is long enough.

I should also add, at shows I also wear a longer riding underwear to avoid VPLs, so I put the top on, then the long “boy short” underwear. So that helps things stay in place!

That’s what I did, too. It was like my magic underwear. Or secret suit of armor.

Fortunately the fabric isn’t thick so I never felt hot.

I LOVE these!

I like the length of these. They’d be easy to tuck into the waistband of your pants/ breeches.

thx!
