Butterscotch schnapps. Ummm, it goes down so well when it is cold out! It’s also good over vanilla ice cream…not that I would know!

Grog is great for tailgates, it keeps well and warm in a crock pot,

Glogg (or Grog) is Swedish, and I live in a community with strong Swedish roots. There are several older bakeries that still sell the spices. The spices are raisens, cardamon seeds, almonds, orange peel, cinnamon, cloves and probably a couple of other things. The challenge is getting good grain alcohol that won’t flavor the wine, so that is where connections to Moonshiners comes in handy.
I start brewing my Glogg in November, and I can’t decorate for Christmas without a pot going on the stove. My husband usually makes me open a wondow so I don’t get tooo goofy from the fumes. It also comes in handy after shoveling snow, or attempting to spread manure in near blizzard conditions!

I printed out this thread and spent $150 at the discount liquor store tonight. I don’t even usually drink while hunting even. It just all sounded so good.
This Saturday we hunt in the morning and have out hunt ball in the evening. Maybe I’ll mix up one of these concoctions to take with me in the AM and get a head start on the festivities.
I’m thinking the white port and Amaretto. I also got some of that good tawny port that was recommended, not the 40 yr old expensive stuff but the 10 yr old moderately expensive stuff.

OK, I found my “poison.” American Honey is a bourbon-based liquor mixed with honest-to-God HONEY. Made by Wild Turkey, it’s quickly become my favorite! It’s going in the flask for Opening Hunt for sure!

The hubby and I don’t mess around with mixes. We either have Maker’s Mark or a really fine champagne Brandy in our flasks.

OMG! I didn’t even had a flask! But after reading this thread, I know that I need to ask Santa for one!
I had herbal lemon tea in mine today! Quite refreshing; however, I had forgotten that you can’t get much in the way of liquid out in any great quantity – a flask is for tippling. I must have looked like the town lush with that thing tilted back while I chugged, trying to get a decent drink of tea!

Next time - some nice brandy or peach schnapps in the flask, and the herbal tea in a water bottle in my sandwich case.
PS. You can get some nice flasks on E-bay, and Skeeter (of Skeeter’s Tack Shop near Warrenton, VA) can make you a LOVELY leather flask holder for your saddle for $30.
I usually fill my flask w/ Blackberry Brandy.
However, a friend of mine from Virginia came out last weekend and we hunted both days with different hunts. She attended to our flask using a favorite potion of her hunt which was Scotch and Butterscotch Schnapps. It was a pleasing blend which resulted in good conversation when shared & empty flask both days. 
A friend passed her flask to me during VA Hunt Week, it had RUM cream and Irish Mist…have been meaning to go by an ABC store since!
I just bought a bottle of Irish Mist. Haven’t tried it yet. Never heard of Rum Cream though. I do have some other things I can try to mix though. The butterscotch and scotch sounds good too.
