What's the closest hunt to Montross VA?

With all the water ways and inlets, I need a little guidance --my two foxhunters and I have a chance to move out of the cold. We’ve hunted for many years in Michigan and are thinking about moving to the Northern Neck of VA. Would love to find a hunt within an hour or two of where we are looking for land.

Commonwealth seems to be the closest in VA, DelaBrookeW in MD, Caroline Hunt, also in VA may be a bit further than DelaBrookeW.

There may be private packs in the area, but they wouldn’t be listed on the MFHA website.

Happy Hunting!

Thanks! I’ll look into both. DelaBrooke is 1 hour 8 min away --too bad my horse can’t swim, it would be quicker to go directly across the river and not drive to the nearest bridge. Currently I’m 1 15 from Battle Creek --so closer. Thank you!

Foxglove I am a member of Commonwealth ! We would love to have you come out with us sometime! You are only 20 mins. Away from our main fixture which is Ingleside Plantation and winery. One of our fixtures is in Montross! Let me know if you have any questions. If you are in the area give me a holler!

Thanks a bunch! I have many cousins who live in the Northern Neck and would love to move closer. DH is on board, but actually moving is probably a year away. I currently ride out with Battle Creek Hunt in Michigan. Two of our members are from Middleburg VA hunt and speak so well of the hospitality of the VA hunts. I would like to find 20 acres around Montross and build a house and barn. Visiting there, I didn’t see much equestrian activity, but I thought if there was a hunt club close by, chances are there were horses and horse people. If you are in MI Sept-April --give me a shout out and we’ll hunt --since I only go to the Northern Neck in the summer --(until we move) --perhaps we could meet at the winery and you could tell me all about your hunt!!

Yes anytime you are in the area! Have a good season!
