If you really like the look of sheepskin, buy plain boots and then trace them and cut covers from a piece of sheepskin. That way you can slip it on with the boots and get all the benefits of sheepskin, but you can toss the lining in the washer (with MELP).It really makes life easier.

I have the Veredus Carbon gel open fronts, and I love them! I really wanted something that was going to protect my mare’s tendon from strikes, because she’s shod with borium behind. They do a lovely job. They are easy to clean (I hose mine), the neoprene is soft, and they are very light (also a plus for me). I bought the ones with the tab closures and they don’t hold footing (when you take the boot off, no footing drops out). I am going to buy the Veredus Carbon gel hind boots this season.
A tip: Amira Equi has Veredus boots for far less than anywhere in the US.[/QUOTE]
THANK YOU for this tip Bluebuckets! I ordered the Carbon Gels from this site and they were WAY cheaper than anything I could find here in the states even with the shipping and they were here in less than a week! CAn’t wait to get out to barn today and try them on my horse!
I also recommend Equifit T-Boots and Veredus. I love the T-Boots, but they’re not very good for wet conditions, but Veredus are good for wet weather - so I have them both!
I have a horse allergic to what seems to be everything but leather and fleece, so by necessity the boots he wears are either fleece lined or leather. At home he wears Eskadron fleece lined open fronts. They can get yucky, particularly because of our arena surface (black oiled Travelright - it sticks to everything) but I toss them in the washer once every few weeks with a little melp and they come out looking great and super fluffy. Pretty easy, all in all - I think they’re easier to deal with than washing out neoprene etc. lined ones after every ride, actually.
In competition he wears Antares leather/calf-lined open fronts and ankle boots. They are absolutely stunning, and I adore them and he looks so fancy in them, but they are horrible to keep clean. The instant it’s remotely muddy or sticky or anything beyond dry footing… ugh. I think I spent more time cleaning those boots last year than my saddle and bridle combined. Definitely something to think about when it comes to leather boots.

You’re welcome, hope you like them!
Sorry but the Romas are CR***. If money was no object I would go for Veredus, with my budget has to be Majyk or Equifit.
