I am looking for recommendations for insulated saddle bags, preferable the kind that goes on the horn, but I am open minded. The catch is I don’t want to spend arm and a leg!!!
BUMP
Sorry, I am not sure many are familiar with that, I am not.
Insulated saddle bags are a specific need for some riding, not many.
We use regular saddle bags and those for medicine bottles, but not insulated ones.
Was not aware they made those, but makes sense today.
Maybe try asking in the Trail forum?
I cover my saddles with an old bedsheet … That certainly doesn’t cost an arm and a leg!
I have a friend who used the professional choice insulated liners in her bags and they keep ice all day. This is important for those of us who like a cold drink and edible sandwich on a long ride.
I think the liners would go into any bag you like. I have a set of insulated horn bags, but not sure what the make is…they are decent but don’t work as well as my friends liners. I hate a hot gunky sandwich and a warm drink, although freezing drinking boxes does work nicely.
I haven’t tried this one, but it looks pretty cool (pardon the pun!): http://www.sstack.com/Western_Trail-Riding-Accessories_Bags-for-Trail-Riding/Dura-Tech-Insulated-Detachable-Saddle-Bag-Small/
