When are your Don Frederic foals due?
Is he in Germany? If so where? If he is nearby I’d love to have a look :)
Kareen, yes he is in Germany. I think you know the place - Gitte and Hanke’s place.

Was it you that took the photo of their Licotus foal?

It will be a couple more weeks before the photographer Hanke set up comes out.

Dan

Awesome  I shall see him them in early May at latest hehe. We’re renting a field from Gitte and Hanke for the summer and they will look after our boys then. Looking very forward to seeing him. You’re not taking him home anytime soon are you?

It’s a small world isn’t it

He should be there in May. If plans change, we will let you know.

Thanks,
Dan

Cute. Looks like he has a better/higher neck set than his mom.

Schoenes Fohlen, fannie mae!!!

Great photos fannie mae.

It looks like most of the Don Frederics are going to be chestnut.

Dan

When bred to chestnut that’s all it can be. My favorite color.

How is your boy looking Dan?

The down side of having horses grow up in Germany is not getting to see them as much as I would like. There are lots of other advantages though. Like lots of places for them to grow up in large fields with other horses.

Dan

When will he be inspected and branded there? Do they still brand?

We will be sending him to the Schockemohle inspection on July 7th.

I think they still brand.

Dan

Exciting news! Just learned that our Don Frederic/San Amour colt was selected for one of Schockemoehle’s auctions at the inspection in Muehlen today. He was also selected as the best of the 12 Don Frederic offspring shown. Will share pictures as soon as I have them …

Dan

That is fabulous news Dan!!!

congratulations, dan!

my don fred filly became winner of the hannoverian show inspection for westfalian breedeers last week.

funny enough:
winning colt was a colt by don fred, too
and he does seem to stamp in face/eye/profile/neck - at least those who are chestnuts like himself.

Congratulations on your filly fannie mae

Here is a video of our foal at the inspection.

I thought I would share the highlights video from Fohlenschau Schockemöhle 9.und 10.Juli 2013. Our colt Dakota made it into the highlights video - (starts at 3:25). It is a fun video to watch just to see what the German inspections are like.

That’s pretty exciting. Are you going to enter him in the auction?

Super nice colt, Dan! Congratulations! (Der hat viel Gummi!):yes:

Thanks siegi b.
