When does the Eventing Show Jumping start?

Anyone know?

I would like to watch the live feed again.

6:15-11:55 AM on Tuesday Aug. 12th…

why is it going on Tuesday? Wouldn’t that be Wednesday in China…why are they skipping a day?

The live feed should be tomorrow night right? We would see it Tuesday on TV.

this is where I found the link…it looks like it is live online on Tuesday morning…
and then shown on Oxygen Tues. night (taped I guess). I wonder why they are skipping a day?

Hmm. I’m not sure that’s right. China is 12 hours ahead of us so that would be 6 pm there. Seems strange they’d wait that long. I know they have other Dressage and Stadium things happening with medals but that certain seems like it’s part of the 3 Day.

I’m just gonna wait for the info to be updated here: http://www.nbcolympics.com/equestrian/index.html

At least looking at that I know the cross country started at 8 AM Monday morning in China while I got to watch it at 8 PM Sunday night from my living room  When that is updated later today then I’ll know what is happening when

Wait, that can’t be right. There are 2 rounds of SJ for the eventing competition. So (in Hong Kong) the first round would be Tuesday morning and the second round would be Tuesday night right? Since the XC ran Monday there.

So, wouldn’t the first round be live for us online Monday night (our time)? – that would make it Tuesday Hong Kong time.

So confusing…

I am of the belief that the SJ is Tuesday PM in HK so we would be seeing it in the morning on tuesday. It could have to do with the fact that they have to travel back to the stadium on Monday.

Another knock on the whole endurance issue. I know they can’t help it, but giving the horses an extra day before stadium takes it even further away from exemplifying the traditional sport (not that I’m not fully resigned to that fact – just an observation).

They are not skipping a day, xc was live in the pm for us on Sunday meaning it was Mon am in China. Show jumping starts at 7:15 pm in China on Tuesday, meaning we will watch it 7:15 am Tuesday in the US. This was also posted by the commentary on the live feed last night.

isn’t that what I said?

Nice piece on the Today show with Phillip Dutton…

They brought the horses back to the main competition area beginning 3 hours after xc finished yesterday morning (Monday morning China time). They show jump under the lights when it should be (presumably) cooler and with bigger crowds on Tuesday p.m. (China time). So it’s not really an extra day, just an extra 1/2 day.

Thanks for playing, you can’t imagine how hard it is for me to keep track of this business.
