A friend of mine visited Iceland last year and rode an Icelandic HORSE. She’s now taking riding lessons at an Icelandic HORSE stable here in Ontario. Loves 'em.
Better?
At least they are my size, that would be nice for a change.
They are really neat little horses (don’t call them ponies!) I have a couple of friends who own them, and DH and I went on a trail ride in Iceland a few years ago. (Unfortunately for me, they put non-rider DH on a very gentle old horse and me on his buddy, so we were the slowpokes at the back, and did almost no tolting.)
wanting to pack my bags right now!
(perfect soundtrack, too!)
My best friend has just come back from a riding vacation in Iceland–trip of a lifetime. I’ve been there a couple of times–wonderful horses, amazing scenery, great food and schnapps, and the loveliest people. And, of course, tolting on ice, volcanos, geysers, the Northern Lights and midnight sun! I’m currently working on illustrations for a book by an Icelandic trainer–have had to draw 8 phases of all 5 gaits.
So many places to go & RIDE>>>>>
GOOO!!! I so wish I could go back! I went for a way too short trip and absolutely LOVED every second of the trip.
If you ever have a chance, GO. Better yet, MAKE sure that you have an opportunity to go.
Iceland is so very wonderful. :D:cool::yes:
Where, when exactly to go? This is my dream trip and it better be soon!
awww, what cuties! woman at my barn has an icelandic; but she (the horse ) doesn’t look like she tolts. seems more like pacing.
