when reporting a spam post

Mod 1 could you also delete the “reported spam” post which would be the post following the spam post so the thread can drop back into the graveyards?

…but deleting the zombie post doesn’t push the thread back down to the date of the last visible post. :-/

I like how Mod 1 has been handling it. They post a note that it is an old post bumped up by spam. That gives the person posting a heads up (if they bother to read the whole thread before posting).

We generally try to delete any “reported” posts after we delete the spam post, but if there are new real posts that occurred after the spam post, I try to post a note that it’s been bumped. I admit sometimes I get lazy though, especially if there have been a bunch of posts by a single poster and I perform a “delete other posts by this user” function to poof all traces of them.

I’ll do a better job of tracking down each thread to delete or post follow-up comments as appropriate.
