Where are our teams now?

Will Connell’s blog was a really fun read, but it brought up a question: Where are our teams in these pre-Olympic weeks?

It seems that the top 8 countries in the World League (or whatever it is called) are at Hickstead right now, riding in a GP. But US jumping did not qualify this year for that league (how sad…), so where are they and what are their preparations since they are not at Hickstead?

Has the Eventing team completed all its preparations? Where have they spent the last several weeks? And have the horses and riders who are not on the team still with the team horses and riders? Or have some of them gone their own way?

And Dressage – when did those horses fly to England and are they at the same place as our Eventing and/or SJ teams? Or has each team made its own plans for these last 2 weeks?

Inquiring minds want to know.

Good questions, Lord Helpus. I wonder also where all the team horses are. I guess they get to go to Greenwich this week and get stabled in non-competition barns I think. After the draw (or something) then the three day horses that are not on the team are released, but I don’t think that is until after the jog.

The dressage horses are in Suffolk. I believe they left the US July 9th. They had a show planned, but it was rained out- so they did a dress rehearsal on their own.

the us showjumpers seem to be competing at chantilly this weekend with their b horses. not sure where the team horses are except reeds are at katie’s.

eta laura and cedric also competing there and saer coulter and a few more… kent i think… i forget who all tbh (meds!) beezie put in triple clears w/ simon & seems finally to be clicking w/ that horse…

Eric Lamaze and Tiffany Foster’s horses are back at their home base in Belgium and the riders are competing in Italy (Eric finished 3rd with Coriana). The other Canadian riders won’t be leaving (from the US) until this coming week (23rd). They have rented a farm for the week before the Games and competition but can’t remember where.

The event horses are staying at a private farm in GB and have been since before Barbury Castle. I read the location and name of the farm owner, but I’ve forgotten it.
