Where are the cotton turtlenecks?

Does anyone know where I can buy cotton turtlenecks for riding that are…

  1. Loooooong enough for a tall person to tuck into low rise breeches

  2. Plenty of stretch so they are clingy rather than boxy (like LL Bean’s)

  3. Have elasticized cuffs

  4. Under $20

  5. Colors other than black and white

TIA

Try Land’s End. Also check their sales page.

I think they may be a bit more than $20, but they wear like iron. I have some well over 10 years old that are still going strong. They come in long and slim, so may fit your bill.

Definitely Land’s End. They will be more than $20 but you have a lifetime warranty.

40% off their regularly priced items today so definitely less than $20!

Ooh, thank you!!

Alas, I could not find any long length turtlenecks at Land’s End. What I found were these at Eddie Bauer:

They are long, form fitting, stretchy, cosy as an under layer, thick enough to wear alone when it’s cool…perfect! And now they’re on sale so I will get some more, since I’m wearing the one I got non-stop. Plus, my trainer told me I look hot in it, but that might be because I pay her.

ETA the long was really long, so I think the regular length will tuck in to low rise breeches just fine.

I too really like the Eddie Bauer ones, as they’re the only ones I’ve found that are long enough to stay tucked in. Their colors are nice and ‘rich’ as well.

I don’t have this particular shirt, but I have to say that I love Eddie Bauer clothes. The fit, quality, and styling are excellent.

Just in case anyone else is looking for options.

Sears. Laura Brooks!! Cheap and nice and long!

Try Bass Pro Shops, Cabelas or Field and Stream.

I find a lot of Land’s End and Eddie Bauer turtle necks at Goodwill, etc. They hold up so well because the fabric is thick and the yarns they use are primo that they look like new compared to the ‘house’ brand from Target etc. They have the quality and length.

Duluth Trading Company (my new favorite store) carries all its T-shirts and turtlenecks in 2 lengths – the long ones really stay tucked in, even with low cut jeans.

The price will be a little more than $20, but it does have sales and specials quite frequently.

Consider a Men’s small from Land’s End. Men’s shirts tend to be longer than women’s.

Well, I was going to say Land’s End…everyone beat me to it.

I have the modal ones. I am tall with ape-like appendages. They fit great & the fabric feels super soft.
