Where can I buy (on line) a manure fork to use with pelleted bedding and/or sand?

I found one of these jewels at Valley Vet, but can’t see paying a 40 lb FOB charge. All I really need is the scooper end as I have a wealth of handles.

Thanks very much.

Maybe try Tractor Supply online?
If you mean the fork with the narrower tines, they sell just the heads.
Hope that helps.

I should have made my request more clear (as in “decipherable”). I’m looking for one that has tines very close together. I have two playful geldings housed next to each other and they grind their tidy piles into confetti.

Are you talking about this: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002RZ6Y9C/ref=sr_ph_1?m=A921EZWIYD2TQ&ie=UTF8&qid=1437083406&sr=1&keywords=manure+fork?

You are not getting away with shipping either way though. It’s rather bulky.

The fine-tine Basket manure forks for pelleted bedding are carried at Tractor Supply.

Long story short, the manufacturer gave this fork to another COTH member that I’ve never met but would love to, but she in turn asked that he give it to me as she already had one. I’ve used the other fork mentioned that has a basket with it but found it really hard to use as it had a very awkward balance.

I used this fork until I had to put my last horse down last spring and have continued to use it daily to pick up doggy doo doo.

It is the strongest fork I’ve seen with the fiberglass handle and the tines really are very flexible.

I’ve got the Flex’n Fork® - Premium Quality - Fine-tine upgrade and love it to death. I can’t express just how great this fork really is.

Yeah I agree that that fork (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002RZ6Y9C/ref=sr_ph_1?m=A921EZWIYD2TQ&ie=UTF8&qid=1437083406&sr=1&keywords=manure+fork)is hard to use. I really do not like it. It’s heavy, awkward, the basket way too large. Overall it is just… awkward. I almost want to say I hate it. I continue to use it because that is the only one I found that has close enough tin together…

MSJ, does the Flex’n Fork has closely placed tins like the other one?

Maybe if you have other stuff you need to meet the free shipping minimum at sstack.com, that will help? They charge an extra $8/each to ship the fork, but since >$100 orders ship free, that might be a good option. I found it by searching for “fine tine” on the sstack.com site.

In the past, Big D Tack sold them on amazon with a cheap flat shipping rate, which was much cheaper than buying direct through the Big D website. They must have figured it out, though, as I no longer see that option listed on Amazon.

I no longer have the one with the bucket on it, but I’m pretty sure they are about the same. Believe me, the cost on the Equitee fork is very well worth it.

Actually I went back to both websites and both list the tines set at 5/16.

For yrs I went back to the reg tine forks and went back to shavings rather than the pelleted bedding until I found the Equitee fork. The one with the basket went to picking up doggy poop till the tines broke and I had a valid reason to pitch the basket and keep the handle.

I got my Fine Tine one at Dover. Not sure if there’s one near you! I personally don’t think it’s particularly great for pelleted bedding though because the pellets get stuck between the tines.

I also have a Wave fork and like it too!

I have the Fine Tines fork that I ordered from Dover. They work well as far as being able to efficiently clean a stall while retaining your unsoiled bedding - but I agree that they are awkward to handle and quite large. The tines are starting to snap off after around 1 1/2 years. While not ideal, they are the best I was able to find, and better than using shavings.

I am whipping out my credit card and buying one of the Equitee forks right now.

I think you’ll be very happy you did.

Thank you! I’ve been looking for something like this, a normal pick with closer placed tins. Ordered it this afternoon. And I already got a notification that it was shipped. Nice.

Gloria, I found the people at the Equitee company very, very, very nice to deal with. What actually happened was that I posted a thread very similar to this and another COTHer, twelvegates, recommended the company as she had one of their products. The owners contacted her and offered her a new fork of her choice for recommending their product on the COTH message board. She declined the offer as she already had one but asked that they give the fork to me.

Now they certainly didn’t have to honor her wishes at all but through the PM section on COTH they certainly did. I had another thread going at the same time about losing 20 lbs without trying over the holidays. While I can be very sarcastic as I was in the wt loss thread, I also was very worried and it obviously struck quite a note with twelvegates for her to make the very kind and generous offer.

While I’ve never met twelvegates, she is definitely one of the COTH members that I would love to meet. As for the outcome on the wt loss thread, after doing a significant number of tests, with the exception of an enlarged wall on my gallbladder and it’s subsequent removal, nothing yet has been found. I am still undergoing CT lung scans for spots on my lungs (40 yr history of heavy smoking) even though the lung biopsy was negative. Unfortunately I did gain back the 20 lbs and, fortunately, I do feel great. At least as great as an arthritic 70 yr old can feel. I don’t do jumping jacks but with a farm to care for by myself, I think I still do OK.

I would be interested in a Mini one since I have Minis, but wowzers. I can’t see spending that much on a fork…

The mini-tin with fiberglass handle is $65

I rather imagine that it would be last fork you’d have to buy. The tines are much more flexible than the ordinary forks.

I’ve never ever minded paying for higher quality items than the crap from China.
