I got an amazing deal on a Joseph Sterling bridle, and it fits my baby other than the crank strap, which needs to be about 3" longer. Bridle2Fit has them, but shipping is $25 for a $12 strap. The only other option I’ve found is a $50 one from Dressage Extensions. Other options?
Funny, I was looking the other day. Try this one: $34 plus $6 shipping.23" long English leather. Do you need a pad? That will be a bit more…https://klselect.shptron.com/p/red-b…ank-strap?pp=8
The Delfina above is around $40 when you get the strap and the pad. No info on length or where leather is from.
$25 for shipping for a strap? From WHERE? That’s insane.
Maybe the moon? I think that is just their flat rate that assumes you’ll be ordering pieces for an entire bridle. I might email them and see if they can do better for just a strap.
Thanks for the links!
Crank strap ? Is that a flash noseband or a true crank noseband?
It’s this bridle: https://www.sstack.com/joseph-sterling-conversion-dressage-bridle-with-patent-beading/p/32871/
It has a flash, but I don’t plan to use it. It’s the chin strap for the noseband itself that is too short.
Good god, the fact that the company would publish that review would put me off them immediately.
Nice bridle though.
I ordered some parts from Solo Equine and the shipping was dirt cheap, they came in little tiny padded envelopes all the way from Canada super fast. I think I paid $5 for the shipping.
Which review? It’s pretty nice for the $128 I paid for it. Baby horse has a kind of coarse head, so I wanted the wider noseband.
If you scroll down from the picture of the bridle on the link provided, there’s a customer review. You’ll see what I mean.
Ah, I did see that. At least we know they aren’t editing the reviews.
That is good to know! The oversize version of the bridle went on sale, so I just bought another one and will piece it together. One can never have too many bridle parts. I might buy a different chin pad for it though; the one that came with the full size bridle was kind of skimpy. Not that I actually “crank” the noseband whatsoever.
Hijacking – where can you find a BROWN crankstrap + pad? I picked up an Antares bridle dirt cheap at a local consignment shop, with a missing chin pad and a crank strap that is way too short for my gelding. I’m making do by slipping a brown flash where the crank strap would go, but it’s quite the ensemble…
Flexible Fit has both of these - but as with the OP it may not be worth it once you factor in shipping?
KL select offers brown options. See my post above.
