Where can I find a hunting journal?

I’ve left this to the last minute and the holiday is fast approaching. I would love to find a hunting journal for a friend this holiday season.

I know that Horse Country carries two beautiful versions but they are out of my price range on such short notice.

I’m not looking for a blank book or standard journal. I’m hoping to find something with a bit more structure.

Any suggestions would be ever so helpful!

It’s a very small niche market. You can find some large game and waterfowl hunting journals at www.cabelas.com (do a search on “journal”), but no small game/fox.

Or there’s this:

Here’s a link to what the page looks like:

I can’t find anything that I would like–other than one of Horse Country’s journals (which I have), or blank lined journals (there are a gazillion of affordable options there).

Great suggestions

Thanks Jennifer!

The first wasn’t quite right–too formatted to be of much use to a foxhunter. The Book Factory option is probably the best fit for what I’m looking for in a gift. It seems to be fairly generic in the format and you can’t beat the price!

Which of the Horse Country versions do you have? What do the pages look like? I’ve only seen the catalog images.

Anyone else with suggestions???

$29.99

Some of these are pretty fab and reasonably priced. http://www.finekeepsakes.com/category/11125184141/1/Journals-and-Diaries.htm
I like blank pages that don’t tell you what to write !

I have the less expensive version ($169 in the current catalog) of the HC journal. Here are a few photos of it:

For me, it was money well-spent. It’s a nicely-put-together journal, and in my favorite color to boot–red! The paper itself is ivory, not pure white, so it has an “old” look to it.

When I was actively hunting, I made sure it stayed in my truck so that I could take notes immediately afterwards. Otherwise, I tended to forget some of the details by the time I got home, unloaded my horse, took care of him, and got back in the house!

Thanks lesson junkie! I’m looking into it.

Thanks Jennifer–that’s the version I had my eye on in the catalog. Perhaps Santa will bring me a gift certificate for being so very, very good this year!
