Where can I find European registries online?

Hello helpful COTHers.

Where can I find online registries for:

KWPN
Holsteiner
Hannoverian
Oldenburg

etc…any others you think would be helpful.

I found horsetelex.com, but many of the horses I find for sale online don’t seem to be included there.

Thanks!

In your browser enter: www.google.com
One at a time, type the registry name followed by “registry” e.g, “Hannoverian registry”. You will find everything you need. Google is your friend.

“Give them fish, they eat for a day;
Teach them to fish, they eat for a lifetime.”

I have looked at KWPN.nl a jillion times and didn’t find the registration database until just now. It’s in a tiny font at the top of the website. :frowning: So, apparently you have to register to use the database, right?

I’ve been googling like crazy and didn’t make any headway. That’s why I came here.

Maybe you should rephrase your question and tell us what you are really looking for.

I sounds like she is looking for a way to verify the registration of horses for sale advertised as registered/approved with a particular registry.

Maybe I used the wrong word.

I am looking for a database where I can look up a horse and find its breeding and registration number.

(thought that was pretty clear from the last sentence in my post where I mentioned horsetelex.com and the fact that I was researching horses for sale.)

What you are looking for is not put online unless the horse is an approved stallion and often with his fees currently paid. No European registry keep a open access database of every foal born. If you need help confirming details about a specific horse you are preparing to purchase, then I’ve found the registries to be very helpful in answering my question (usually confirming who a horse is, so I can be more likely to recover lost registration papers).

HorseTelex reflects registration numbers for stallions, mares, and geldings, if that data has been inputted. However, it is a contributory database and the registration number is not required data.

Thank you!

If the horse has an FEI passport, its registration details will USUALLY be in the FEI database, including several different numbers.

The KWPN d-base is for members only IIRC.

It is. I ‘joined’ yesterday but am still waiting for my confirmation email. :frowning:

Wthout being registered you can get some information in the SF database ( http://www.haras-nationaux.fr/utilitaires/moteurs-de-recherche/info-chevaux.html ), just input name of horse, if you need more details and are not registered, PM me, I will help.
You can also try http://www.webpedigrees.com/index.php?lang=en

Thank you, Andy!

I am a member of the KWPN, so I have access to the database. If you need any help, let me know.

Thank you. The email from KWPN never arrived (checked my spam folder) so I was about to give up. Will PM if I need help. Thanks.
