What technically qualifies as a free lease? They would have to take over the expenses of taking care of the horse and pay for lessons and training, but they would not have to pay extra for leasing the horse. Is that considered a “free” lease?
Yes, you can ask that the leasee takes over expenses for a free lease offered in Giveaways. Here’s an exerpt from the Giveaways FAQs that goes into a little more detail:
You may offer a horse for FREE lease – in other words, no lease fee will be charged. (It’s fine to ask the person leasing the horse to take over its expenses.) Do not offer a horse for free lease “if it doesn’t sell.” Horses that are for sale do not belong in the Giveaway forum, and if your ad mentions that a horse is for sale or might be for sale in the future, it will not be approved.
The forum is provided to facilitate temporary or permanent rehoming of horses, not just help paying your bills, so partial leases or full leases where the horse must stay on your property, etc., are not the right fit for this forum.
