Where is Michael Jung?

This is probably old news, but I’m out of the loop. I didn’t see Michael Jung in the results for Land Rover Kentucky or Badminton. Is he injured? Does he not have a horse for the highest levels right now? I did a Google search for him and didn’t see any news that would indicate why he wasn’t at the big events this spring so I’m just wondering why he wasn’t competing. I knew that someone here would know.

I follow him on Instagram and have seen him compete in EU at 4* and below on various horses including fischerChipmunk. He’s also done quite a few jumper shows over the winter.

I expect he’ll be at Luhmuhlen this summer maybe?

I think I saw somewhere (maybe eventing nation?) that he was focusing on the shorts (4*-S) with Chipmunk in order to prepare for the Paris Olympics. Besides him, he may not have anyone for the 5* currently? I am not sure.

Found the entry list (so far) for Luhmuhlen and he’s entered 2 in the 4* (doesn’t indicate L or S), including Chipmunk.

Thanks for looking in the obvious place. Germany’s horse press is second only to Ireland’s in obsession with its equine stars.
Thanks also to @ravenclaw for raising a hand and asking what lots of us were wondering.

It seems like in general German riders are competing mych less at the 5* level these days, I guess because it is no l9nger necessary for Olympic qualifying?

There was another article about him this week but haven’t had time to translate it.
