Where to advertise working student position

We have had good success with Yard & Groom in past years, but don’t seem to have the numbers of qualified candidates lately. Any suggestions on where else to post our position?

Facebook, Twitter, etc.
That’s where all the young people are these days.

Qualified vs young and qualified vary greatly!

You can try FB. There are groups there that cater to “horse jobs”.
Depending on your location, a local horse association or something might have a classified network. Is it an eventing barn? I’m pretty sure Eventing Nation has a classifieds ad somewhere.

I know there are a few discipline specific websites that have advertisement areas. Need a loper? Ranchworldads.com is a great source.

It’s a live-in position at a dressage school / training / sales barn in Canada. We have tried several groups on Facebook but without much luck. Yard & Groom is still a good source, don’t get me wrong, but just wanted to see if there were more out there I wasn’t aware of.

before I saw the light and moved into the non-horse-industry job market, I was a working student for two separate programs. I found both via the ‘help wanted’ section of the Chronicle of the Horse magazine

In today’s world, I agree FB is probably a good avenue as well.
And the best way to get good applicants is probably word of mouth. Put out through your traininer network what you’re looking for. Friends may have some graduating students looking for exactly that situation.
