Where to buy a fake tail?

I’m looking for anywhere in Canada (preferably Ontario) where I can find a black fake tail. Nothing overly expensive as the tail won’t be used super often. Thanks!

I’ve seen them at wellingtons and the greenhawk warehouse.

Pretty sure she is needing a fake tail for showing purposes not health reason.

P.

I’ve got one hanging around that I was just thinking the other day I need to rehome. It served me well on the A circuit, and I’d be happy to know it’s getting used. If you want to pay the postage from CT, you’re welcome to it. PM me if you like

Check with your braider, they will probably either be willing to make you one or tell you what brand they would go with. It’s important especially because they might have a particular top style they want when braiding. Plus a tail made by a braider is generally much better quality and last a long time even if they are more expensive.

Ebay? I just bought a lovely extension there for $30 --new it would have been well over $100 --FYI extensions can be dyed to match the tail --we do that as our Dun has an odd combination of chestnut and black in his tail --we dye it different colors in sections so that it blends perfectly with his natural tail. And for everyone who things tails “look fake” and otherwise some how a bad thing --I think the 1/4 lb tail the dun wears helps him balance the 1/4 pound bridle he wears on his head. Our tails are so well matched (I take a lot of pride in my tail-matching, FYI) and so well applied, that they look every bit as natural as a real tail. I use a very small tail extension (they do go as high as 2 lbs, I think), ours are only 1/4 lb. Too thick and the tail may be caught between horse thighs, and second problem is people don’t apply them carefully and there’s an obvious “break” where the fake tail starts and the real tail ends. Like all cosmetic items, tails should never detract from the horse, only add to the over all picture.
