I’ve got some weeds cropping up along my fenceline and in certain area of my pasture. I’d like to tackle them with a backpack sprayer and Grazon. Last year, before I fenced, the farmer broadcast sprayed and it worked very well. He doesn’t want to return because I’ve now fenced the area off. I’m not sure where one BUYS a product like that? Tractor Supply doesn’t seem to stock it. Home Depo/Lowe’s don’t either. The local feed supply store would have known, but they went out of business. Where does one buy Grazon?
Do you have a local grain elevator with an agronomy division? Most Land O’Lakes affiliated co-ops will carry it, or be able to order it through WinField (LOL crop protection division).
Unless you have a Certified Pesticide Applicators license, you will want to get the Grazon Next formulation, which does not require a license.
Local Co-Op?
G.
I don’t know if we have either of these, but the farmer must have gotten it somewhere reasonably local. I hate to bother him just to ask… but I guess I might have to?!
See the links below for a few options, if they aren’t close enough they may be able to point you in the right direction.

Super helpful, thank you. There are a few right near me. I had no idea some of these places even sold these types of chemicals.

Apparently neither did they when I called, LOL. So…trying some others…
Yeah, TSC used to have it but stopped at some point in the last year. I’ve seen it at two places within an hour of me, one is a large feed store, the other is a farm and building supply store. Might be easiest to call and ask the person who sprayed for you before?

Seriously?!? Helena, CPS, and Southern States are major large farmer type of Ag suppliers. Even if they don’t stock it they should be able to get it. (I work for a company similar to them and we can special order it).
That’s BS that they wouldn’t know what it is…
And FYI- Southern States even has it on their website… so they CAN get it for you if they really wanted to.

<Poor customer service really irks me>
He was checking to see, he said he had never heard of the product (even after I spelled it). Maybe he was new, he hasn’t called back yet.
Maybe just order online? I have bought online when what I wanted wasn’t easily available locally.
If you don’t need that much you can get a smaller thing of Crossbow which is very good even on woody things and briars and is graze safe (and there are some off brand similar things that are even more cost effective). But don’t use that if you have alfalfa or other broadleafs you want to keep in your grass mix because it will kill them:

once mixed it isn’t cheaper per se but it’s not such a huge container if you only have a little area to spray. The big container of GrazeOn sort of assumes you are doing a full field spray because you dilute it more. 2.1 pints per acre max goes pretty far out of a 2 gal jug if you are just doing a fence line and corner of a field with a backpack sprayer. Not that having it around is going to do any harm, of course, so you could always just put it on the shelf and wait until you need it again if you order the big thing of it.

Grazon is restricted-use here in TN and also requires a license to buy and use. You can buy it through the local farmer’s co-op or some specialty farm/landscape supply stores. Grazon has a residual so manure from horses that grazed in the pastures or grassing clippings from the pastures should not be composted for use on vegetable gardens or other sensitive plants
The posts on this thread are very helpful. Thank you. Off to order some.
Usually worth going to the manufacturer’s website and click on “contact us” ask for a local distributor in your zip code area.
I have found 75-80% strength 2-4-D which can be had at my local Tractor Supply mixed 5-6oz to a gallon of water works on the majority of broad leaf weeds in my neck of the woods. Not so much on more mature “woody stemmed” stuff. Pretty good on when young and tender.
Grazon, Clarity etc can be had at my local Ag Supply that cater to “real” farmers.
Also, don’t know if it is as dry in PA if it is here in Indiana but I’d hold off on spraying right now if it is. We haven’t gotten any real rain in a month here and our grass is really stressed. Spraying right now would probably scorch it. I sprayed right after the last rain and I sure wish I hadn’t, it had called for rain 36 hours later which never happened, it still hasn’t rained and my pastures look like August and it’s June. Hoping for a nice rainy week any time now so they bounce back. It’s dry all over the place here so I can’t tell whether mine are worse than they would have been, but I am sure the spraying didn’t help. One more thing to worry about…
This has been so helpful, thank you…
The first place I went was Dow’s own site…
http://www.dowagro.com/en-us/range/products/grazonnext-hl
But as you can see, they don’t have a “find a retailer” option on the site, unless it’s buried somewhere I can’t find it
Instead this just have this “most everyone carries our products” blurb, which isn’t all that helpful…

We’re supposed to get some rain this week, and assuming that happens I was aiming to spray not this weekend but the following. I just want to try to get the chemical and equipment now so I am all ready to go when it’s time.
I figured buying online would be impractical because of shipping costs for a heavy liquid, but if I can’t find it locally that’s not a bad idea.
Since the farmer got it, at this point I would just ask him. You probably ought to know where your local co-op/ag supply place is anyway because they are going to have other stuff you need, like seed and fertilizers, etc. Mine has a lot more variety than Southern States. My SS at home tends to stock just the very popular items and is at heart sort of a “feed, small farmette and lawn & garden” store. Love it but sometimes you just need something more specialized.
There are two kinds of Grazon available down here. One is the classic Grazon P+D which requires an applicator’s license for purchase; the other is new Grazon Ultra that is open sale. I’ve never used the Ultra, but I do have the applicator’s license. I buy mine at local farm chemical stores that service hay people. Two gallons of either costs about $90.
