Where To Find Apendix QH In New England

Looking to possibly retire my TB mare and would like to know where you would find an Appendix QH for sale in New England. Looking for safe, sane + forward. Honest trainer or farm to buy from.

For use as low level dressage mount and for hunter paces & trail riding. Older rider (55) - no experience with the cross but I am assuming they would be a good fit?

Not interested in QH hunter trained (long and low frame).

Thanks you in advance for any ideas.

Best to look through your local AQHA association. I am not in your area, otherwise I could point you in the right direction.

To your questions about the breed though, I love my Appendix QH as a dressage mount and as an all rounder. She is athletic and very level headed. An excellent mount for an older rider. She kicks butt in the dressage ring too.

As to training…if you have the right conformation and training you can definitely retrain from long and low. I found my girl showing AQHA HUS and thought she was wasted there. Found the right trainer and brought her along as a dressage horse.

Anyway shop around. Check the QH breeders and go to the shows. Look for potential. Also, the right QH will make you a nice ammy dressage mount…be open to that too.

All the best.
