Where to find inexpensive/used men's boots

Help! A male friend has the lead in a Jane Austen play, but has to come up with some boots. Play is Emma, so set in the country in around 1807, and it looks like boots with tops would be appropriate for a country gentleman?

Any suggestions where to find a used pair inexpensively? They’re not actually going to get ridden in.

eBay. Marlborough boots are usually less expensive than some of the other brands. Like these:

BTW, these would be a men’s size 8, but may be narrower than US men’s sizes.

and make tops for them out of duct tape (saw some amazing colors & patterns at Staples the other day - didn’t realize it also comes in SHEETS! very cool…)
