Can’t afford custom made chaps. Need appropriate chaps for open show circuit – suede with fringe are the norm. Any idea where to get good quality plus size chaps that fit.?
I don’t have an answer for what you are looking for but I do remember this lady made very reasonable plus size custom chaps. Made some for a student of mine once. She has a self-measuring kit she’ll send out to you. Might be worth shooting her an email and seeing what cost is.
I believe Hobby Horse Clothing sells plus size chaps.
You might do just as well to find someone who makes custom chaps. At least all of the measurements will be to you, you can choose the colors and overall look, etc.

You might need to have them shortened, but that is not hard nor expensive to do. I did that once with a lovely pair of custom chaps that my best friend gave to me, her inseam is about 4 inches longer than mine, so I had to have them shortened. Even shortening the zipper is not a big deal. I had it done at a tack shop that also did custom english schooling chaps.
