Where to find used saddles.

After extensive work with an independent saddle fitter, it has been decided the best saddle for my large pony and kid is a Crosby Centennial. We tried one from our local consignment shop that was the right specs (16.5 wide) but in a long flap; it fit the pony well and the kid liked the feel…but the long flap looked really awkward. We really need a regular flap. And a 16-16.5" wide is apparently very hard to find.

After looking on FB, instagram, and ebay, as well as reaching out to quite a few consignment shops, I feel like I’ve hit a dead end. Anyone have suggestions of other places to look? What are you favorite consignment shops that I might have missed?

TIA.

If you havent tried it already, I would recommend Pelham Saddlery. They have many types of used saddles on consignment.

I go there every once in a while just to look for entertainment purposes.

I have a version of that saddle that I’d sell.

This is an Exselle Access, 16.5 W that measures closer to a 16. It does not have long flaps. The Access is Havana brown. Mine is in demo condition. PM me if you are interested and I’ll see if I can take some pictures.

Have you tried Highline/Fineline Tack?

I like Equus Now.

Centennials turn up at Middleburg Tack Exchange from time to time. They’re great saddles, especially the Internationales.

As simple as it sounds…Craigslist, and poshmark.🤷🏼”â™€ï¸

Saddlers Row has a pretty huge selection of saddles available. They are still open for repair business too.

Middleburg Tack Exchange is my favorite.
