Where To Get Rust Breeches (besides TS)?

One of the Christmas presents that a family member asked for is rust breeches. So far, I have only found the TS ones. Before I pull the trigger and buy them, does anyone else make/sell rust breeches? I know there a bunch of new smaller companies that are making great products that are not sold on SmartPak or Dover, I would rather support one of those than buy the same old thing, but I don’t know who they are. Thanks in advance!

Pretty sure Annie’s makes a rust breech, but I haven’t seen them in person.

I have both the Ovation Tayloreds and the Custom Riding Apparel in rust. The quality is definitely better on the CRAs, and I have worn those to show in, at rated shows. The color is a little darker on those, too. The Ovations are great for schooling, but the bottom of the leg seam, for example, definitely shows the quality difference between the two, and these are a shade lighter.

I also have the CRA in rust. The quality is excellent, but they never fit me that well. I have a curvy figure and had to order bigger than usual so they would fit in the thigh, and then I had the waist taken in. If you have a straighter figure, they would probably fit you well. The fabric is beautiful.

I have the classic show breeches; they also make the Skyline model in rust which is fun. I bought these as a graduation gift for a teen, and she loved them.

You can buy Annie’s Breeches in rust:

You can also buy a classic rust breech at Horse Country. I am saving up for a pair of these. Here’s the Sandhurst light weight:

and the Sandhurst Phoenix, which has a low rise and euro seat:

You can tell I’ve researched this a lot. Still looking for my ideal style and fit in rust.

You actually have some good options; let us know what you get.

Thank you guys! The Annie’s are out of stock for knee patches, so I asked if they will have more in time for Christmas. If not, I will reassess. I will let you guys know how it turns out. I had not discovered Annie’s before… so many nice things!

Not necessarily a smaller company though

If you’re looking for a breech size 34+ Fuller Fillies has a gorgeous rust in silicone knee patch and full seat.

I own both, and LOVE them.

That is labeled “wine,” not rust. It looks like more of a burgundy. Pretty, but not rust.

curious if anyone has personal experience with the Greenhawk Elation breeches and, if so, what do you think?

I’m fairly curvy and the Ovation Taylored fit so well I just about cried. They are a “relaxed” fit so are more generously sized. I love them and would absolutely buy them again. Their rust color is fairly bright, but not inappropriate, IMHO. I will show in them as soon as I find a brown helmet . . .

Here’s a better picture of the CRA Skyline breeches in rust. The drop-down menu does not show 24R, but they do carry that since I inquired. The price shown here does not seem to be the sale price; I’d inquire about that as well.

These breeches are fun because of the contrasting piping.

I have several pairs.
Stick with the platinum breeches. They are the nicest. They’ve lasted really well for me.

The red label is the cheaper line and more of just a cotton knit. They pill easily and wear out quickly. The Platinum line doesn’t pill, sheds dirt and hay, they are comfy, have the sock bottom, fit true to size (I’m the same size in the elations as TS and RJ Classics).

They’re nice enough (but only the Platinum line). However, the Greenhawk breeches in question (linked above) are not rust - more of a darker red with a tinge of burgundy IMO.

I have CRAs and the Ovation Tayloreds in rust. I hate the fit do the CRA and pretty much only wear the Ovations. I find the Ovations slightly “cottony” for showing, but not by much. I will wear them to show if I ever get back into the ring again.

I just purchased another pair of Greenhawk Elation breeches yesterday. Love them. Fits my “more mature” figure perfectly. NOT low rise…thankfully! I show in them as well. They wash and clean up beautifully. Highly recommended.

Any thoughts on the fit of the Ovation Tayloreds? The TS Schooling breeches fit me perfectly in 28R, but nothing else seems to. Unfortunately TS seems to be getting rid of that line and I’ve been grabbing them off eBay whenever I can. Eventually that option will run out!

They are the closest to my favorite breeches, the Ariat Pro Circuits, that I’ve been able to find. I am a typical pear shape, so the roomier thigh with the smaller waist is helpful. I image on someone built straighter, they would just have the roomier fit that was popular a few years ago…a few wrinkles without being overly baggy… I actually started a thread on the Ovations when I got my first pair a few months back because I love them so much.

Yes, I’m built a little straighter, and like the roomier fit of the Ovations very much. Especially since I can get a thin layer under them for the cold weather. The CRAs are definitely more fitted on me, closer to how Pikeurs or TS fit. I wouldn’t do a rated show in the Ovations, but they’re great for schooling or schooling shows.
