Thanks for the suggestions. I’ve come across some nice possibilities. Trying to decide to “do” something now or wait to see the foals out of my two mares. Foals will be by 16.3 hand, TB, Challenged and 5/8+ TB. We’re loving the foals he has produced so far.

SOTA auction: 11 hours left
…so ends at 7 pm EST. sadly only at 1k so far on the bidding. At his age the poor guy deserves a better end than an low end auction.
If you want to stay the registered APHA route, look for horses with Robins Scribbler breeding crossed with TBs. The bloodline has produced countless eventers and jumpers. They are athletic and have great minds.
Hello =) I have a lovely 2014 Premium RPSI colt by the late Ralando II (Ramiro Z/Calando I /Cor de la Bryere) out of my mare Sambuca (Samber). He is going to be the only colored foal that Ralando II has sired before his unfortunate passing and should mature to about 16.2/16.3. Islamorada TCE “Gabe” is a handsome perfectly marked bay and white pinto colt with powerful hindquarters, a flowing trot and very rhythmic canter. He is handled daily and has a naturally bold and curious disposition. He canters around the paddock and jumps any fallen trees or bushes that are in his way. He is very easy to handle and stands for braiding/farrier/baths and practically self loads into a trailer. This sweet boy can never get enough attention and is a total pocket pony. He loves to be cuddled when he is taking a nap and will leave his friends in the paddock to walk over to hang out with people to see what they are doing and get scratches. His phenomenal lack back temperament makes him a fantastic candidate for an amateur yet flashy enough for a professional. He should be able to excel in anything from hunters and jumpers to dressage and eventing. Islamorada comes with a lifetime USEF and USHJA number. A good home is my top priority for this special boy so we are willing to work with the right person =) Good luck in your search

Thanks for the idea. I like the look, but don’t want to go more drafty. I want ONE stallion to breed to the TB mares and the part TB, ISH mares.

I do like SOTA, but am leary of buying a stud that age and he is priced a lot higher, privately.

I try not to get too much APHA blood in with the ISH mares. The APHA turns off a lot of sport horse people thinking they are too stocky…I know better, but it is a thought with buyers.

He is very attractive!!! A bit pricey for someone only breeding 3 mares a year and no outside mare…but I will keep him in mind. Thanks.
Patty Brantley is back home now, I did not read all the posts, but she and her boys are the real deal. GREAT minds on her horses too. SUPER lady.

I know Patty and have spoken to her recently. I LOVE her horses, but I really don’t want to take a chance of breeding one of my mares and #1 getting a gorgeous filly or #2 not being able to breed one of my best mares to her own son!! (We only breed three of our six mares each/every other year). We have a terrible track record of mostly ALL fillies!! Plus…the time frame…breed in 2015, foal in 2016 plus at least three more years to raise a colt to breeding age!! By then I’ll be aged out and too tired to breed!!
