Where to ride in Boston area MA?

Hello! I am a rider in my 20s who, in my junior days, did the big eq/juniors and went to indoors as a kid and was able to do a little bit of AOs during college. Now that I have a job, I am looking to start riding on my current, smaller budget that does not yet leave room for owning a horse. Looking for suggestions if people know of any places in the area with a good lesson program/good lesson opportunities for a relatively strong rider just looking to be able to ride! Thank you all for your suggestions

Where are you in Boston? How far are you comfortable commuting?

I am in the chestnut hill area! I would love to keep the commute around an hour but willing to go further for the right place. Thank you!

Check out Ridgetop Farm in Holliston. Great program and they had a few nice lesson horses when I was there, it’s been a while though so not sure what their current situation looks like.

HL Select in Westford MA (based out of Cavallo Equestrian Center) as a select number of horses available for a half lease. You could also talk to Hannah (head trainer) about ala carte lessons. www.hlselect.com or on facebook. I live in Waltham on the edge of West Newton and it takes me 30-35 minutes to get there without traffic.

Would recommend looking at Rising Star in Medway MA. They have both a lesson program with plenty of lesson horses and a show program for boarders. It’s a big barn that usually has plenty of half lease options as well (down the line if you decide to go that route) due to the large number of boarders, kids heading to college, working professionals, etc.

They do have some lesson horses nice enough to go to area shows and also hold schooling shows for their lesson program on site. Qualified trainers that have ridden the big hunter and jumper tracks themselves and their young pro did well in the big eq and has experience in the hunter derbies as a pro.
