Where to sell my used older horse equipment/books/show clothes etc?

I’m sure it’s on here someplace but I can’t find a post.

I’m moving and would like to sell my excess equipment. Where would you sell used horse tack, books, mid level show clothes? I have a lot of equipment that is older but still very usable. Like who needs 20 snaffle bits of varying sizes when one only has 2 horses?

Would you use Ebay, Craigslist? I never post on facebook but if that’s what people are using…

IMO and IME, your mileage may vary:

Ebay takes a cut and you have to deal with their listing requirements and shipping the merch.

Craigslist will work if you have a lot of similiar discipline horsepeople in your immediate area, but you will also get LOTS of scammers, weirdos and randos.

FB marketplace works really well, especially for things you can sell locally and meet to exchange. There are FB groups just for tack and clothing, so you can really narrow it down to the correct niche market. I have had very good luck both and selling on FB marketplace.

Think about your local horse friends - how many are ebay or craigslist daily and how many are on FB daily?

I forgot about the FB groups. I’ll ask my friend about local groups, she’s a big FB fan. I wasn’t sure if FB had the same level of scammers Craigslist seems to have.

Hay is still a big Craigslist item in this area but I haven’t seen much tack recently.
