I’m not interested in competing at horse shows anymore. I’m interested in riding about 2-3 days per week, with a lesson either every week or every other week, and was wondering if anyone on here knows the area well enough to suggest some places that are easy to get in contact with. I’m looking on the north side of charlotte for reference. Do farms still offer half leases in 2025? I’ve taken a break from the sport due to burn out in 2019, and I’m very confused as to what the Hunter jumper world is like now. I’m open to looking at 3 day eventing farms as well. I have a budget of $500-$1000 per month, is that even a doable number these days? or has inflation driven up the cost? I’m out of touch, and would love to be updated on the state of the sport in 2025.
I don’t have any suggestions, but would like to ask the same question for the Triangle area (particularly Durham/Chapel Hill) Open to hunter/jumper, eventing, dressage - just want to get back on a horse, but don’t have a huge budget right now.
I’d recommend getting in touch with Logan Harris at LH Equestrian. She is an eventer. Beautiful place with great horses and training! I sold her a horse last year that is now one of her on-site leases so I can vouch for that one in particular
Junebug pm me- i may have some info for you
thank you for the recommendation! There are a lot of farms south of charlotte, but I’m worried getting through traffic would be a big bear to deal with.
hope you find a place as well!
