I like it!
Sadly, thatās pretty much the refrain running through my brain anywhere: stores, restaurants, stoplights, on the phone with customer service repsā¦
A horse friend sent this to me last week, SO accurate
Yup. I actually had the nerve to ask an orthopedic surgeon if I could ride with the back brace while healing from a broken vertebra. His face turned a shade of dark red, followed by purple, before he gave me the answer. Poor guy. I didnāt mean to upset him. Seemed like a natural question to me.
Yes I said it in the ER after an ambulance ride for a āhorse tramplingā incident.
ER doc said nope, broken bones need surgery.
Funny I thought I was the only kook that thought like this.
Oh man, that is so funny!! I once had a Dr in emergency asking me questions to determine if I was a victim of domestic abuse based on my file. I laughed and said āno. I run a little horse farm by myself.ā Dr rolled her eyes and said āā¦you horse peopleā¦ā
I bet it was Zu_Zu !
In a similar vein I was in the ER after getting kicked by a horse. No broken bones but I did have an inch long split/stretched area of skin at the point of impact. The nurse said Iād need a couple of stitches and my response was āReally? If that was my horse Iād just wrap it up and leave it.ā
So umm⦠yeah, they didnāt stitch it.
I was in emergency with a suspect broken footā¦triage nurse asked what happened, the second I mentioned a horse she went āyep itāll be brokenā. It wasā¦in 3 places. They of course told me to stay away from the horses for a bitā¦naturally the horses instead got desensitised to crutches
The day I got the moonboot off, the (young and naive) doctor said no riding for at least another 4 weeks. Iām sure it will surprise no one that I was back in the saddle as soon as I could get out thereā¦2 days later. Only reason I wasnāt riding with the moonboot was because I couldnāt actually get onā¦it didnāt fit in a stirrup and my brain wouldnāt let me mount from the right!
