I am going to breed my MS Hanoverian mare again this year and looking for help deciding which way to go. She is by Maronjo out of a Lemon Park mare. I bred her in 2006 and have a lovely Landkoenig filly that is a very talented jumper. I am looking for another jumper or event horse with this breeding. My problem is the mares temperment. My Landkoenig mare has my mares exact same difficult temperment as her mother. While I accept this is a strong possibility again, and am willing to have another similar temperment if this foal has same talent as mother/ and her first foal, I was looking for a possible stallion that is known for throwing his temperment. Jumping talent is a must. Right now I am looking at Pablo at Rainbow Equus. They were fantastic with my last breeding. My mare is very large (17.2) and is a heavy type. Looking for a little refinement. He looks like he would be a nice match for her. On the other end of the spectrum, I am looking at the Gem Twist clone Gemini. Would love a nice TB cross, but I know that temperment was an issue for Gem Twist, and Gemini is very young and only has one foal crop on the ground. Thanks for reading this far! I don’t have a suggestion since I am new to breeding and my mare is the opposite end of the spectrum as she is small. So I have been looking at bigger stallions not worried about refining.
I just wanted to say that the pilot (in Pablo) can come out sometimes and he is more difficult. I love what Pablo brings to the table but if you really want to try and breed a more ridable/easier temperment you might want to try a different line.
On another tangent I have only heard good things about Landkoenig so perhaps your mare just passes her temperment on very strong. Like mother like daughter.

I would try a Balou stallion…do you are about registry? Some holsteiners have incredible jump and ridability.
Not sure if there is semen from Coconut Grove, approved Han. If registry is not an issue, how about A Fine Romance? Both full TB
Thanks guys! Not worried about registry with this one. And yes, I feel like my mare is one that is going to pass on her looks and temperment. My Landkoenig is a carbon copy and has the same temperment as mom, but boy can she jump like dad! I am happy with that, but figured I would try something a little different this time. Love reading your responses. Thanks! And as far as holsteiners go, I believe Landkoenig has holsteiner in him, and I am a huge fan I that breed as well. 2nd only to the Hanoverian.
Have a look at the Trakehner stallion Tatendrang. He’s tall but refining - his owner can confirm, but all of his foals seem to be very people friendly.
If you are looking at TBs with those lines, I would look at Triple Twist. He is triple bred New Twist. He has unfortunately passed away but I know there is frozen. He was extremely Ammy friendly, fantastic temperament. LMK if you need her contact info.
How about Hunter in California? He’s Holstein approved and his sire is Heraldik. I don’t know anything about his temperament, but the website makes a point that he has a good one. You could call and talk to the stallion owner. He’s already had 4 foals who have gone into eventing and done rather well.
Gemini is spectacular but he is waaaay not easy. Just like Gem Twist was. Not a horse for amateurs…not even a horse for Laura (before she got hurt). Ask anyone in our area who has seen him at a schooling show.

I am not the owner, just know of this horse and he is big, and as with most Saddlebreds, has a fabulous disposition.
Not to generalize but R line stallions I believe are usually good with temperment.
The Capitol line in holsteiners is known for their Ridability!

I do have frozen semen available if you are interested in those bloodlines. He has reproduced his temperament in all of his offspring. He was a joy to ride and live with. Anyone could ride and handle him. His full TB son is here as well and is his father made over (thus named “Ditto”) if you’d like to come see him or either of the other 2 offspring I have here to see what their temperaments are like you are more than welcome. 
I’m not an expert but I did see the stallions at Rainbow and if you think you need refinement what about Pablito? You getting one generation removed from Pilot who may be the source of the hotness, your still getting good jumping lines and the refinement that your mare might do well with.
Just a suggestion from someone who is not nearly as familiar as many others on here. I would also consider Escudo II. He is a bit more refined.

Thanks everyone! So grateful to hear suggestions! I am a little fearful of the Gemini/gem twist dispo, only heard a little, and remember seeing Gem bucking around in my younger days. The comments here are confirming my fears, which I appreciate. I already have a pro ride (my trainers words) in Lady, but I don’t mind the antics or the temperment as I have never felt at ease cantering down to a 4’6 fence before. When I am on her, it’s like they are cross rails, and my trainer won’t push, so no more height for us for at least another year! It’s such a small world, as I believe I had a conversation with Twist of fate some years ago regarding a pharyngeal collapse in our event horses. I had a gelding who did rather well at the AEC’s some years ago, and if I remember correctly (which I may be way off) you did to. I am heavily leaning towards rainbow Equus, as they made the entire thing very easy, including semen shipment across the county on something like 2 hours notice! I had not even looked at Baron VG, but now see he has Landgraf (which has ladykiller? I think) I have to refresh my memory, but I am a huge ladykiller fan! Anyway, keep it coming, and love everyone’s kind suggestions. This is such a huge decision for me, but an exciting one too! Thanks again
You might take a look at Chicardo, who is Capital bred, by Clinton. That line is known for good temperament, and he did very well on the 70 d.t., getting a 10 for character and a 9.5 for jumping. He is approved Hanoverian, so your foal could be registered AHS.
Ugh, I just looked at Escudo II and see he has Absatz. I love that line. My first try at breeding was 19 years ago when I was a senior in high school. I wanted to breed to Abundance, but semen quality was low, so bred to Absolute. The resulting youngster carried me to the USEF national reserve title and zone champion title several years in a row as well as the USEA adult amateur preliminary champion. He did everything I asked and then some. Love that lineage. Totally lucked out on that one. I was rather naive but had a great mare. Learned alot since those days!
His ended up being a resp infection picked up at AECs from which he recovered fully.

Thanks MM Tate’s foals are very people oriented and really want to please their people. They take after Tate a lot - that is why I call them Tater Tots LOL. Tate is 17.1, but as MM said, he is very refined himself and tends to refine the heavier mares. His oldest foal crop is 3 this year and hopefully in the next few weeks the first one is going to be under saddle. They all LOVE to jump. Here is a video of one of his 3 year old kids who opted to free jump himself one day when we were getting some at liberty video of him (for the mods, he is SOLD - I just haven’t been able to change all the titles of every video, up load etc of him). http://youtu.be/XikzzV_EfIM This colt was out of a 17 hh, very large, old fashioned type mare. He is around 16.0 hh and will grow a lot more (I think he’ll end up around 16.2 - 16.3 hh).

My deceased Thoroughbred stallion, Master Huntsman, would probably be a very good match for what you want. He was only 15.2, but produced much bigger (his sire was 16.2). He was incredibly intelligent, kind, easy to handle and deal with, and his foals have been a testimont to him in that. They are lovely movers, “put me in coach” attitude", bold and can jump. Ask Twist of Fate about the gelding I leased to her after her stallion passed away. Also had his last baby start eventing this past year and qualified for the AEC after only 3 events and finished 9th out of 33. He also received a grant for training from the USCTA. His trainers love him. The gelding that Twist of Fate had is now owned by a college student and was in the top 10 in his division in the state h/j standings although she didn’t get him until July. He is loved by her and her trainer. Both got a late start because of me. His full brother had end of the year awards in dressage. He didn’t breed a ton of mares in his career and most were kept by those who bought or bred them and showed at their level of expertise. However an Olympic level eventer loved the 2 geldings above and their jumping talent, expressing interest in what else I had. I have frozen semen. Good luck!
