Hello all! I had a show today and it was pouring down rain during our test. My white breeches now have a black stain on the crotch (they have a charcoal seat, so this is only on the actual crotch area). Any tried and true methods at getting the stain out?
Thanks!
Oxyclean is pretty amazing.
But crotch stains kind of come with the territory. If you look at any picture of world class riders on podiums, they all have stains on their breeches from their saddles too.
Hoping that the stain is oil based, you could try using regular dish detergent and cold water on the area. Cold water won’t set the stain. Make sure t’s the liquid handwashng dish detergent.
Other than that, be thankful you have a charcoal gray leather there.
Try rubbing the stain with old fashioned yellow soap before you wash them. Or, try spraying the stain with liquid saddle soap. I have used both methods with varying success. (for what it’s worth, when rain is predicted, I don’t wear my good FITS - I wear a pair of Horze Grand Prix. Less expensive, more washable.
I once washed and dried my lipstick in my jeans – there was red everywhere. I tried a product called Lestoil that smelled like kerosene. But the jeans were history so I gave it a try. They came out perfect.
