As the title says - I love the look of the white piping with white stitching but wonder if it changes color, especially the stitching, with regular use/cleaning/conditioning.
White stitching holds up fine… if you never clean or oil the saddle. Eventually it’ll turn a cream/beige color from conditioners/cleaners. Just like in the hunter bridles with the fancy stitching and the rich patina.
I have a saddle with white piping on the blocks (Zaria). I bought it used and the white was already in the process of departing. It is a white overlay paint/dye. So I would be very careful and not clean with anything too astringent or strong. It is not my favorite feature of the saddle.
Thanks! That’s what I thought might happen with the stitching, but I see it so much now that I wondered if something had changed. Never considered that the piping was a dye that would come off. Bummer! But, if The Right Saddle has these features, guess I’ll live with it!
I have silver piping on my custom and it’s unchanged after 3 years
I also have a Custom with silver piping. Not a problem after 2 years of regular use (sometimes 2 horses/day) and regular cleaning.
I had white piping on a jump saddle, it was fine when I cleaned it
Thank you! I may just go with white piping and black stitching if I have to order my saddle.
I have white piping on my jumping saddle and absolutely love the look. So far it’s held up just fine and I clean and condition my saddle A LOT(after every ride). I think it looks fantastic though the above post mentioning silver piping sounds quite fancy to!
I have a 9 year old Hulsebos that I bought used with white piping on the cantle and it looks great! It is a quality, well made saddle so maybe that makes a difference.
