Sadly, I never previously had much reason to take advantage of SmartPak’s free embroidery services… and now that it’s gone, I have a reason!
I would like to have some embroidery done on some items going out on lease with my horse, to hopefully increase the chances that those items will return (no, it’s not the lessee I’m worried about).
So who are we using now? Two Socks Designs looks promising (quoted $15-$30 for my needs)… but I’m also cheap. Any other options?
I have used Personalized Products many times for embroidery, but I do wait until they are at a show near me, so I don’t have to ship things back and forth.
Have you looked into a local store that sells like custom T-shirts, etc (you know like for a group). A lot of the times they are actually cheeper and there is no shipping. They may not know horse stuff but they will do exactly what you ask.

Impressive Images out of McHenry, IL is fabulous! Fran Lambert is a reiner as well, so you’re helping a fellow horsewoman. She has done embroidery for national shows, Congress, etc. She is the most meticulous, careful and detailed person I can think of when it comes to her work. Very sturdy - washes and wears well, with no fraying or loose threads (I have pieces that are 5+ years old, and look brand new). She can do any quantity from 1 to 1000.

Second this. I have gone to my local embroidery shop, which specializes in items for our university’s sorority members. They had little experience with horsey items, but have done a beautiful job for me on saddle pads, sheets, wrap bags, boot bags, and coat bags. I was able to select the exact color thread and style of font I wanted from hundreds of choices, and I had no shipping charges to worry about.

Sorry for the hijack, but what did you decide to do re the saddle dilemma?
(another vote for check with your local embroidery service, local shops/barns may have a favourite)
The local EmbroidMe franchise does an excellent job.
Find and support a local business. Mine isn’t a horse based or mail order business. They love doing my stuff because it’s a break from bed sheets, towels, shirts, bags, girls dresses, etc. and in return I have some of the most unique saddle pads, etc. nothing overly flashy, but cool combinations for initials that aren’t diamond, script, roundish yawn
i use a local shop. they are cheap 5 bucks to 12 depending on the size and pattern. if i want something special i draw an example or find a picture. they are quick, professional and i dont have to ship anything.
