Who can "fix" my tall boot zippers?

This might be a bit crazy, but I have a pair of Deniro Leuca field boots that I love, but the zippers WILL. NOT. STAY. UP. I’ve had them for 18 months, and while they are tight, I can zip them all the way to the top, put them thru the little zipper keeper, but as soon as I start riding, the zipper starts to slide down, which drives me bonkers.

So, I was reading Amanda’s review of her Tucci boots at $900 fb pony, and was wondering if I could get someone to modify my zipper so they have the snaps to hold the zipper up like the Tuccis:

Does anyone know someone who could do this and do a good job? I love these boots, and I don’t want to give them up, but I also can’t stand stopping 2 times per ride to try and pull my darn zippers up!!!

TIA!

As a temporary solution, take a piece of thin dark cord, run it thru the zipper pull and tie it in a knot so you have just enough space to pull the leather snap piece thru before snapping. that should keep them up, at least until you find a plan b.
You might contact Tucci and see if they could put their arrangement on your boots.

Try running a bar of soap or was along the zipper to see if it will give it enough friction to hold.

Just take them to a show repair person and have the zippers replaced. It will cost about $30 and you can’t tell from the outside.

What??? My tucci’s don’t have that snap on the inside! Just that crappy leather stop that hasn’t stopped anything.

Look at the one pic of these parlanti’s. You have to scroll over to see it as it is the last picture. Are you sure your boots don’t have something like this? I didn’t know mine even had this and they fell down all the time until I found a pic like this on the internet and had a duh moment. If your’s don’t have it, it would probably be easy to add.

Oh duh, I just saw you said this in your post. Sorry.

 They do have it, it just doesn’t work worth a darn. Midway thru my warmup trot, the zipper is straining to break free of the little tab. Was hoping to find something just a bit more secure. The Tucci system looks just brilliant to me, but alas, new boots not in the budget at the moment…

I think any good boot repair place could do that for you. Try Paisano and Son. Send them a cover letter with the pics from your first post explaining that’s what you want. They did a great job replacing my zippers last year. Fast turn around and fair pricing. Here is their facebook. Give them a call first because I know they moved to Phoenixville so double check the address. I literally sent my boots in via USPS and got them back within a week and a half. GREAT business.

I had a problem with my Tucci’s when I bought them in the spring of 2016. The zippers would never stay up, drove me crazy. I contacted the retailer who in turn contacted Tucci. I sent them back last summer and they fixed them by adding in the snap and additional tab. Works much better all though I still don’t like the boots.

I have the same problems with my Ariats. I wonder if I can get a snap or something similar added to them? OP-let me know if you find out a solution!

This is too late to be of help for these boots, but I was told that this problem may be caused by walking around with the boots only partially zipped.

I’m not saying the OP did this, but for those who do, just a heads up that this very problem may be in your future!
