Who created Steffen's Anky beating Freestyle?

Or did he create it himself? What music did he use? Same as at the World Cup?

This doesn’t exactly answer your question, but in case you missed it, here is the vid:

I think it was likely Terri Gallo. He used a combo of Viva La Vida by Coldplay and The Safety Dance by Men Without Hats- I don’t know what the walk music is nor the instrumental passage half pass music. His f/s changed by adding the Coldplay to replace some more Asian themed trot music for the Olympics this past spring and I THINK his trot music has evolved a bit more, because I recall the Viva la Vida music being in the trot half passes at WC, but not throughout the whole trot work.

Unfortunate that the aspect ratios are off, it’s a bit squished :frowning:

But gawd that team is amazing.

There’s still some ROlling Stones in there too! I love it!

Sympathy for the Devil.

One of the best freestyle music selections I’ve ever heard was a few years ago, there was a horse called Sudan, and the music was all Jethro Tull.

Funny, in a dressage context, the music doesn’t inspire me to smoke anything illegal the way it did back in the days.

That horse is awesome. Congratulations Steffen!

thankfully not that dutch has been, theo.

It plays fine on my computer, but I think it was videoed from a flatscreen TV so the image is less than stellar.

I think that SP was quoted as saying that he picked that music just because the tunes were personal favorites. Definitely in line with my taste as well. I never realized how well it could work for a freestyle though!

Terry did do Steffan’s freestyle as well as Debbie McDonald and numerous others. We are trying to set up a clinic with her 7/25-26/09 in Georgetown, KY. She has done my daughter’s YR, I1 and now GP freestyles and she is great to work with and you get a great freestyle. You can get a freestyle, audit or ride in the 2 day clinic and learn how to set up a freestyle and get music from her for one gait. If interested e-mail Nikki@nkldressage.com.

Oh, I remember that one too - it was fabulous! Even my husband (a typical non-horsey type guy) enjoyed it!

Steffan and Ravel are a wonderful team, aren’t they? I hope for many more years of a great partnership!

I board next door to Steffen’s place. One day we heard the music start and everyone at my barn went over to watch him practice. It was so awesome and inspiring! The Safety Dance part was really fun, very entertaining. Anytime I can catch a glimpse of him riding, I drop everything and go watch. They are such a fabulous pair.

Oh! You are very fortunate that you can watch him ride!

So you board at the place just past the AdM sign on the right? I’ve often looked over and wondered who rode there! Is it mainly dressage or jumping or ? Cuz I think I’ve seen a little of both?
