Who else has a Stormy Atlantic youngster?

I just adopted Storm Driven from New Vocations and he will be 4 on 4/6/15. I’m just wondering what kind of growth patterns people have seen from their Stormy Atlantic offspring. He is already 16.2, but is butt high right now, so I’m hoping the withers will sprout a little. He definitely seems like he still has growing to do.

I have a grandson. Sheridan Square (http://www.pedigreequery.com/sheridan+square). I would say in type, he follows his sire line.

He is just turning 6. I got him as a 5 year old. He may have grown a bit but not too much. He is about 16.1 maybe just under. He is filling out more now–I do not expect him to grow too much in height. He is built pretty up hill although his neck is tied in a bit low…feels really well balanced and up hill to ride. My guy is very refined but a very athletic type. And while refined…he is refined everywhere (and narrow!!!). But after 38 starts, his legs and joints are super clean and tight. His xrays on his PPE were good too…so I’m not worried about him holding up to eventing

My guy has a huge sloping wither…and great shoulder. He’s been a blast to ride. He needed 6 months let down after racing. Very VERY smart and sensitive. He wouldn’t suit a lot of people but he is just my sort of ride. Very brave jumping too.

Good luck with your boy!

Mine isn’t a youngster anymore–12 this year! http://www.pedigreequery.com/oakridge+star

Mine is 17h, leggy, sharky wither, big shoulder, great uphill gallop. He was quite . . . dramatic . . . as a younger horse, but for the handful he was it’s amazing how much he has chilled out. Aside from galloping he is pretty quiet these days.

I have a just turned 7 year old 17hh Stormy Atlantic boy! He is kind as the day is long and is one of my main beginner lesson horses. Unfortunately he is recovering from Hock Chip removal surgery - he slid off the ramp unloading from the last show of the season and hit his hock hard enough to create 5 chips.

Mine grew until his 8 year old year, no kidding. He was not tall but it did take him a while to grow into his loooongggg legs. Stormy Atlantic’s are the only cats I would consider. He was a bit stubborn at first but had a good sense of fair play.

Most of them are very pretty–real lookers. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info and good wishes everyone!

Beam Me Up, your horse is lovely! I hope mine turns out so well!

Good luck with your boy bfeintn! That is very bad luck. I hope he recovers quickly!

Don’t own one, but have galloped a few for long periods of time. LOVE them! They are slow to grow into themselves but tend to be larger, big boned types that have great gallops. Have fun with yours!
