Who has used the Le Mieux cooling saddle pads?

I’ve seen lots of posts on gorgeous LeMieux and PS Sweden saddle pads. Went to browse and see that LeMieux also has a line of cooling pads. Has anyone used these and seen a difference? I was thinking about summer trail riding in my dressage saddle. I currently have Ogilivy cotton squares that are just fine, wondering if this might be better. Also whether they add much bulk?

Unfortunately the colour selection is more limited!!

The normal Lemieux are much much cooler than Olgilvys. I have the cooling pads and they are a bit better also,
Don’t get white, it stains super easily. Love both versions of the pads.

I have LeMieux for my jump saddle and really like them, especially the wither clearance. There are 3 options for cooling pad, which one have you used and how thick is it? And no, not white for back country trail!!!

I have these two. The carbon one I have only used in winter so far, the other one I love for hot days especially clinics when we work super hard. I have the jump and dressage in both.

love the le mieux mesh pads- they look good and clean up great.

How thick are they?

I thought the carbon pads were cooling. Has anyone used both? Are the cooling pads better for hot, humid Florida weather?

They have a couple types, a carbon mesh and a self cooling and then another one with cooling designed foam which is probably more bulk than I need

They would be better for sure but their normal pads are also great.

The cooling pads are thin, the carbon thicker but not by much. I’ll take some pics later of the thickness and share.

Thanks! I have Ogilvy dressage pads and LeMieux jump pads because that tracks my learning curve on fancy pads with good wither clearance :). I was thinking of getting a LeMieux dressage pad because I like the D Ring wither straps and general heft, and then I saw the cooling pads which seemed like a great idea for trail rides! Saddle fits with just a cloth pad when maresy is in fine flesh, use a mattes wool pad if she loses topline. Right now we are in fine flesh  so no padding needed

I love the LeMieux pads except for the plastic girth guard that rubs and squeaks against the inside of ones boots. Anyone have a solution for this?

I have used two versions of the carbon mesh pads. The older style I loved! My mare had so much less sweat when using that pad. The newer carbon mesh (the one they sell now) I dislike using in the summer. My mare sweats straight through and the pad has allowed my saddle to show the wet marks from the sweat.

The weave of the cooling line pads looks a lot like the older carbon mesh pad that I like so well. No clue though if it is similar to it or not.

Love Le Mieux! i have two carbon-mesh pads that i school in and they are wonderful! Perfect actually. So much so that all my other pads have been benched, (the tall pile of them is quite impressive!) All i use are the carbon mesh ones now.

I have a still new with tags Le Cool Grip that i bought mostly to show in, but will start training in a month or so before i show.

I love them — have the carbon mesh for both my jump and dressage saddles. I’ve also benched all my other pads, so can attest that they hold up really well to heavy use (have taken them out on trail a lot so they’ve been through burrs, sticks etc.).

How thick would you say the carbon mesh pads are compared to a basic cloth pad?

oh, at least three times at the under-the-saddle part. And probably 15-20% more thick on the rest.

If you’re familiar with structure of Le Mieux you will know how well they stay in place. With these carbon mesh, there is zero …and i mean none! slippage. For me, that’s the lovely thing, as well as the cush. My saddle is just a cheapo plastic one, padding minimal. This pad, in combination with my saddle does well on my horses.

Am I the only one who hates the d-ring straps? I find them awkward, maybe my rings are just unusually small? Seeing it more and more now though.

The D ring straps work really well on my saddles, it’s a definite plus for LeMieux for me. They help keep the pad off her withers

I do too - I just cut them off.
