I have cliniced with Bonnie Benello several times and audited many more. I always enjoy watching her work with people

I have cliniced with Lilo Fore once and wish we could get her back on a regular basis. She is fantastic! I first observed her teaching at a USDF instructors certification seminar.

I also had a clinic with Carol Plough and thought she was delightful. She reminded me very much of Vicotr Hugo Vidal in character and style. A kind loving and inspirational teacher. It was shortly before she passed away and I consider it a great loss.

My favorites have been Walter Zettl, LJ Banks, Carol Bishop, Lilo Fore, Elizabeth McMullen, Janet Brown, and Mary Wanless. But there are so many others that have been great to ride with and audit-Jane Savoie, Linda Zang, Petra Wilder, Hilda Gurney, Chris Cox and just an array of talent out there to learn from. I say if you have a clinic in your area-GO! Whether you ride or audit there is always something new to learn. Have fun! The best thing about riding is that there will always be something new to learn and we have many talented riders/instructors to continue our education with. So go have fun!

If you can’t clinic with the big names, find someone who has.

My daughter just came home from a clinic given by Patti Becker. She’s the trainer from Fireside Farms in southern Wisc and is local to our area. She , I believe, has trained and attended clinics herself with many of the “fancier” clinicians that many of you have named. It was a great weekend. Patti has the gift on zeroing in on your one area of struggle, the one most riders aren’t even aware they have. She corrects it, and it’s amazing how all the other little troubles just also fall away. I heard time and again, rider after rider, say that she helped them correct what the had been struggling with all winter. Everyone left feeling more positive about their riding and their chances for a successful show season.

If you can’t clinic with the big names, find someone who has. Their experience will benefit you.

That was a huge exercise in racking the memory. I know I’ve forgotten the names of many. It’s fair to tell me I’ve cliniced too much. But, 25 or more years ago when I was starting out, there weren’t many dressage trainers at all. In fact, I have a book from that period that said there were only around 100 horses in America who could piaffe. So, the best way to get an education in dressage was to clinic.
