I hadn’t seen his FB page previously. Say what you want about any supposed fluffing, but GG produces VERY nice horses.
There were two around here for sale a few years back. Very pretty - neither made it to the show ring though. One was sold as a broodmares the other I think had soundness issues.
It happens - young horses are a crap shoot.
Anyhow, they seemed nice but very much hunter types and hunters really aren’t my thing.
I knew a couple that did the HB circuit in PA years back and were broke to ride. They were fillies and were stunning. They went on to life as broodmares (I think) but started in some schooling shows and always seemed easy and good movers. One was a pinto I would have killed for, I believe she is now back with TC.

Three now. And as a long time (and very jaded) poster I will admit I thought the exact. same. thing as Neddy and Janeway.
And then there were four.
Does make you scratch your head…

Especially when on EMG (a Canadian board that TC is banned from) a post looking for her ‘contact information’ showed up on the exact same day. Somebody can find EMG to ask that question but can’t use google to look up a website?
To the OP–so glad you are happy with your purchase. If you were around on the board longer it wouldn’t take long for you to understand why the ???.
Well sorry…no idea what the deal is and honestly could care less!!
It truly was a innocent post and just wanted to hear from others who have GG offspring or know of some. I was just excited after losing my very first horse last yr and being away from riding for the last four years. I feel like I finally found my “dream” horse who can take me to the places I want to go…so didn’t know it was such a crime to wonder what and how his siblings are doing!!!
Well you are in the “club” whether you like it or not…I’ve been in it for 8 years…had no idea about the Drama that follows TC and that others create before I purchased mine…but as the years go by I’ve been made “aware” of this more and more and have even been approached on it…
For some reason, people don’t understand that I just wanted a pretty Buckskin TB filly…Which I have and love dearly She is going to have her first foal this Spring and I can’t wait…
SH:)
Golden Boy, did you buy Austin? My GG gelding looks just like him! Mine is 4 years old and we did some schooling shows this summer, just the hack classes. We are going to be doing the hunters but I am taking his training nice and slow
P.S. I’m pretty sure he is smokey brown like my boy, not buckskin

I think if you go back and re-read, it isn’t a matter of drama following. It is created. There are some people around that have seen the board used as thinly veiled advertising and claims made that were not true or exaggerated. There was a Trak mare and critics of the Trak breed. And usually the people with low post numbers in support and people that have been around that are tired of it. Just saying that this is not unwarranted.
But that has no bearing on how much you enjoy your TC horses and foals and everyone likes to be able to discuss their horses. However it is not unfair of this board (and others) that there is this reaction to the “topic”. Just saying.
Not everyone is a troll. There is only drama because people focus on it. There is drama everywhere on CoTH and it gets boring.
To the OP, congrats on your recent purchase and enjoy him. It is very well known that Guaranteed Gold has produced some very successful offspring.
Thank You!
I had one. He was nice for what he was, but had limited athletic ability as he was a little weak behind. Great low hunter, and was a great mover. Placed respectably against some top AA horses.
I think you get a mixed bag with him. I think he’s an “ok” stallion … but hasn’t been selectively bred to the best mares for top hunter breeding.
If you have a nice mare, I can’t see him throwing any terribly qualities to the foal. However, I don’t think he’s the type to improve on anything either.
The horse I had, had a wonderful temperament and is now owned by a young girl as her first horse.
Enjoy your boy. What’s his name BTW interested to see if he was from the same breeder as mine.
What age did people start theirs? My anglo is only 18 months and getting as big as a moose. I’ve ponied her in the park just to get her out and get use to ponying. My intent is to pony her with the saddle and ground drive her as a 2 year old then once she’s 3 start to work on riding her. I started my Arabs as 3 year olds with just light riding and never on consecutive days and mostly an hour to 1 1/2 at most. Thought I’d do the same with her. She’s a full boned horse and yes I’ll make sure her knees are ready. Anybody want to throw out their opinion?

I have a lovely golden palomino yearling anglo filly by Guaranteed Gold. She has a fabulous disposition which was a relief as I’m familiar with Arabs so this was a step outside my comfort zone. She’s going to be big by the looks of things. She’s already taller than my 2 full grown Arab mares as only a yearling. She is a very nice mover, isn’t spooky, quiet to work around and super friendly. Numerous people from various horse backgrounds have remarked to me about how striking she is I am really not sure what I’ll do with her once she’s a bit older. I compete in endurance riding so would be curious to see how she would do in that sport but I think she would look fabulous in the hunter ring as well.
In 2014 I’m going to trying breeding a bay Arab mare back to GG and see what a buckskin Anglo would be like. Do like a horse of a different color
Maybe I’m reading you wrong but Anglo = Thoroughbred not Arab. Just a little FYI

I am reading it that theirs is a TB/Arab cross which is an Anglo-Arab.
Snowfox - I think you did read it incorrectly. Darice mentioned her filly is:
I have a lovely golden palomino yearling anglo filly by Guaranteed Gold
Which is what she is. An Anglo Arabian. And she is breeding another bay Arab mare to GG in 2014:

to try and get a buckskin Anglo Arabian. She very much knows that TB / Arab = Anglo Arabian
Darice - the offspring by GG that I have kept long enough to start, I have started under saddle in the fall of their 3 year old years. Like you - I dont believe in starting them any earlier. They are well acclimatized to “different” things before that by showing on the line and going for walks - alone and with company - around the property, loading and unloading on the trailer, getting baths, etc so a new “program” involving getting backed isnt a great shock to them. They are always exposed to something new and different in their lives
Here is a link to some other Guaranteed Gold offspring as babies and as older horses “doing something”. Some owned by me, most owned by others
Love seeing the updates on Serenade - she’s a lovely filly and that fabulous deep dapled gold colour we all want!
I thought maybe, sorry.
It was just when I read “Anglo filly by Guaranteed Gold” It sounded weird because of course it’s Anglo because Guaranteed Gold is a TB. It read like the other side was making it Anglo, but if the filly was party Arab then the mother had to be Arab.
Anyway ignore me I haven’t had enough coffee today
That’s ok as some days I haven’t had enough diet coke Yes I’ve been loading her into a trailer since she was just a baby so she’s well versed with riding around in the trailer. She doesn’t seem to mind being having a bath. I like getting her out to the park so she gets to experience new situations other than just in the pasture which must be really boring day after day. We need to do more walks just by ourselves so she’s use to being away from the others. She does get a bit anxious about that. I want to make sure she has a good solid base before we start with saddle training. I’m not getting any younger and the ground isn’t getting any softer! She does have a very good head on her shoulders though. She’s not lacking in the brains department and some days I wished she did LOL. She’s a bit of a monkey that one but over all she’s a good girl and I can hardly wait to ride her
Second Level Dressage
I have a 2008 Buckskin gelding out of GG. He is incredible. We’re competing 2nd level dressage this year and I couldn’t be happier with his disposition – so patient! I’m hoping to get my USDF medals with him someday!

If yours is out of GG you should call Guinness book of world records. He’d be the first stud who’s successfully had given birth to a foal!
Any pictures of your guy?
