Tryon is doing a local this weekend with the A’s starting next week. I am supposed to judge a local in Conyers Ga next weekend and as of right now its still on.
As of now there’s no gatherings allowed over 50, so no shows! Rumour has it, Maybe in August, if all goes well there maybe some day shows with no spectators etc…but we still won’t be going! Everything hinges on wether our heath people will allow anything anyway! My barn cancelled our shows until next year! And, I believe Amberlea in Edmonton cancelled
Wow. Saratoga is now planning to run seven weeks of horse shows, starting a week later than usual.

Over 30 in the Suitables and Child/Adult Jumpers and nearly 30 in the Childrens hunters? Haven’t seen numbers like that at a one-day show in NJ in long time. At least they cut off the entries on Monday.
There is a show at the Ridge that day as well. It will be interesting to see how the numbers shake out there.
Are the rescudeled Brownlands a go?
they are taking it day by day.
any word on the Aiken summer stuff & pre-show since the gov just extended the state of emergency through June 11 - including allowing law enforcement to disband groups of more than 3…
Hits is planning six weeks in Saugerties starting in July. They are holding some of the Vermont dates there.
Shows at the Colorado Horse Park are cancelled through the first week in July.
They added another week in July, though, so IF those run there will be another in the schedule.
What happened? Did the state open up slower than expected? Or was that show schedule unrealistic?
From what I understand, sporting events in CO have to “apply” to the Governor’s office to be allowed to run, and he/his office did not approve the shows for those dates. Unsure if this means July HAS been approved, or that they will need to re-apply later for those dates with crossed fingers.
Hoo boy. Interesting, thanks. Hard to make plans that way.
We got hit hard here in CO so I’m not surprised Polis is taking extra precautions. I wonder what this means for the CHJA shows (specifically Estes)
I don’t think July is certain, but LEG and the local government and health officials think that it’s likely the # of people allowed in a gathering won’t be high enough until at least then, and there is a risk that if that was allowed, it could be rescinded quickly meaning having to send people home mid-show, potentially. So, yes, the reopening is slow enough that even with spacing at the horse park, compliance is questionable and right now the government is leaning towards no. Makes sense with how they are treating other sports and venues/events.
Another interesting twist is that everyone must sign up with a trainer, stalls are sold in blocks only to be reserved by the trainer, and only trainers who reside in Colorado may attend. Trailer ins will be allowed on a limited basis, and it’s not clear if those must also follow the trainer restrictions. There are also some other administrative weird things going on that would not make me thrilled as a trainer.
Looks like they have around 372 entries for the first July show that meet this criteria so far. I wonder what is going to fill…the class schedule looks the same.
Only problem you have adding another week is that Copper Penny at Estes starts. Its on, but we’ll see
Thought they capped CHP shows at 350, so there are 22 on a wait list so far
Wasn’t that always going to happen if the CHP used all of its dates?
Supposedly a local show is on for next weekend here.
How many entries do they usually have there?
700-1,000
Princeton cancelled both its one day June shows after discovering that the governor’s orders apply to them
It looks like Oregon’s Huntercreek shows will begin in July, if the Covid trend continues in a positive direction. The management is working with the governor’s office to plan in accordance with CDC guidelines. As they said in their last email to members of OHJA, “shows will look different”. Not sure what that means, but our barn is tentatively planning to attend. No word on High Desert shows later in July-- but those usually draw 600 horses each of the two weeks it runs. That seems impossible in these times and restrictions.
