Filling out some papers and they ask for Grand Dam and Grand Sire. Are these the Sire’s parents?
They ask for Dam Sire separately, so I am assuming they mean the other side of the pedigree. (Since the Dam Sire is a grandparent, I don’t think they want it listed twice)

A horse has two Grand Dams, and Two Grand Sires. Correct terminology would be to specify, Maternal Grand Dam etc.
Paternal Grand Sire (Sire’s Sire)
Paternal Grand Dam (Sire’s Dam)
Maternal Grand Sire…(Dam’s Sire or Dam Sire)
Maternal Grand Dam (Dam’s Dam)
They didn’t specify, but since they had already asked for Dam Sire, I had to assume they meant the Sire’s side when asking for Grand Dam and Grand Sire. (They never asked for Dam’s Dam)
