Who makes truly custom boots?

I’m talking about true custom boots. Not the ones where they have the standard foot sizes to chose from and you customize the rest of the boot like DeNiro does. I need a boot maker that sends you the foot impression thing and makes the foot of the boot to fit your, in my case, weird, wide, duck feet.

Dehner used to but I understand that they are closing.

Any recommendations?

I’m not sure, but the information that Dehner is closing might be premature. Did you try calling them? I just did, and they appear to still be in business (of course, this is after hours, so I got voice mail). The website is up, the phone works, and the voice mail is active. Give it a try!

I haven’t checked, but Vogel out of NYC made my dress boots (in 1989) & I’m on my 3rd pair of Dehner paddocks since 1990.
Both required a local fitter to take the measurements.
Dehner then had my sizes on file for pairs #2 & 3.

ETA: looks like Vogel is still there

Have not worn Vogels for a while, but the pairs I had most certainly had custom feet.

I used LaMundial. I have duck feet. I had poor luck w both Dehner and Vogel. I have one pair of tall boots and 3 pair of paddock shoes. All fit like they were made for me.:grinning:.

LM made a point to trace out my feet before and after stepping in my orthotic inserts, they were the first backzip boots I could actually fit my feet into without sizing way way up, it was amazing!

Thank you, everyone.

I just moved to Florida and I’m excited to see that LaMundial has several fitters within driving distance. The web site says there is a “master fitter” in Ocala and their store is in Wellington, I’m about the same distance from both, so not down the street, but an easy day trip.

And, their Black Friday Sale has started - “$700 all boots”. Yay!

LM is at the Royal Winter Fair in Toronto and I spoke with them last weekend while working at a nearby booth  They were really nice, let me try on one of their demo boots, and did mention that they fully customize the boots.

Also the company changed some years ago and apparently resolved the customer service issues they had (if you search you might find some negative reviews from their first venture). They were upfront about this and said operations had been streamlined since then.

That’s good to hear about LeMudial’s service. About 5 years ago barn friend got fitted in FL. Her boots arrived and fit great, but totally wrong color. She sent them back. Got her next pair in the correct color, but she could not zip them up for the life of her. Sent them back.

Do you remember pricing at all? I am on the hunt

Yes! It’s $700USD for full custom + options. The ones I was drooling over would have been $700 (navy with white stitching but no fancy add-ons). I don’t know if they’re having a final-day sale but if you message me on Sunday I’ll be there and can tell you

I haven’t personally ordered from them, but I brought up the topic with the two reps who were at the Royal and they didn’t try to hide anything, just explained that the company had made changes due to issues they’d had previously.

They were really very nice and helpful and interesting to talk to. They are based in Ecuador and travel to these various shows. He said opening weekend (last weekend) at the Royal was the best start they’d ever had to a show for sales. Also said they themselves don’t ride because in Ecuador it is a very elite sport and is very expensive - he said it’s only for the 1%.

I have 2 pairs of Celeris, & my neighbor has 4. Truly custom, they regularly have a Buy 1 get 1 for 50% off, so that makes it more fun!

Came here to say this. Celeris makes truly custom boots. 11 measurements in all if I am remembering correctly.

Seek out the local cobblers in your area and show them what you want.
If they find a retired master do not argue the price.
